FIRST ON CNN: Huntsman to drop out of the race Monday, source says

Myrtle Beach, South Carolina (CNN) – Republican presidential candidate Jon Huntsman will drop out of the race on Monday and endorse Mitt Romney, a senior official with the former Utah governor's campaign told CNN.

Huntsman picks up big endorsement from S.C. newspaper

(CNN) - South Carolina's largest newspaper, The State, endorsed former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman Sunday, just six days before the state's Republican presidential primary.

The paper's editorial board stated that while frontrunner Mitt Romney is "more appealing" than the rest of the GOP field, Huntsman is "more principled, has a far more impressive resume and offers a significantly more important message."

Front-runner Mitt Romney is Mormon, as is Jon Huntsman. Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich are Catholics.

Rivals grudgingly defend Romney from Bain criticism

(CNN) - Two of Mitt Romney's opponents for the 2012 GOP nomination took heed Wednesday of former President Ronald Reagan's so-called 11th Commandment: "Thou shalt not speak ill of any fellow Republican."

Former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman and former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum both avoided jumping onto the pile of critics who say Mitt Romney destroyed jobs and bankrupted businesses during his time as CEO of Bain Capital, though it wasn't easy for them to throw praise at the Republican frontrunner.

Huntsman puts ‘trust’ first in final N.H. push

Exeter, New Hampshire (CNN) - Jon Huntsman returned to the site of his June presidential announcement to make his final appeal to Granite State voters ahead of Tuesday’s first-in-the-nation primary.

The former Republican governor, who has staked his White House ambitions on a strong showing in the state, told a packed town hall in Exeter Monday that he has become a "shameless salesman" on behalf of his candidacy as he crisscrosses the state asking for votes.

Huntsman's final ad push

Manchester, New Hampshire (CNN) - In the lead up to voting in New Hampshire Tuesday, Jon Huntsman released a new ad that retools statements from Sunday's debate to hit frontrunner Mitt Romney and prove his patriotism.

"He criticized me while he was out raising money for serving my country in China, yes, under a Democrat, like my two sons are doing in the United States Navy," Huntsman is quoted saying of rival Romney in the spot. "I want to be very clear with the people here in New Hampshire and this country: I will always put my country first."
