Washington (CNN) - Comedy Central hosts Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert will hold the "Rally to Restore Sanity" and the "March to Keep Fear Alive" on the National Mall on Saturday, with thousands expected to flood in from across the country.
The event comes months after conservative Fox News host Glenn Beck held a "Rally to Restore Honor" in Washington, in which thousands of conservatives and Tea Party faithful attended.
While Stewart has insisted that the rally is not a result of Beck's march, the event's Web pages appear to copy the look of Beck's event, and many say it's a direct response to Beck's often-controversial comments.

(CNN) - Jon Stewart is not a newsman, but polls show he has the reach of one at the top of his profession. He's not a politician or an activist, but he's set to host a rally expected to draw tens of thousands to Washington's National Mall.
And with President Obama ready to appear on his Comedy Central show Wednesday - less than a week before the midterm elections - Stewart is reconfirming that he's more than just an entertainer and satirist.
Obama will be the first sitting U.S. president to appear on "The Daily Show With Jon Stewart" when it airs Wednesday night. He's been on ABC's "The View," NBC's "The Tonight Show," and other programs as president. But the show Obama picked for an appearance days before the midterms - with Democrats anxious to turn out the voters who helped propel him to the presidency in 2008 - is Stewart's.

(CNN) – Count Jon Stewart among the legion of frustrated supporters of President Obama.
Appearing on Fox News' The Bill O'Reilly show Wednesday, the liberal comedian said he thought Obama would do a better job when he voted for him in the 2008 presidential election.
"I think people feel a disappointment in that there was a sense that Jesus will walk on water and now you are looking at it like, 'Oh look at that, he's just treading water' … I thought he'd do a better job," said Stewart.
(CNN) - Two Comedy Central funnymen are apparently entering into the partisan political fray with rallies of their own in the nation's capital.
Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert have set October 30 as the date for their respective rallies.
On Thursday night's airing of "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart," the comedian announced plans for a "Rally to Restore Sanity."
"See you October 30 on the National Mall to spread the timeless message, 'Take it down a notch for America,'" he said.
Stewart dubbed the event a "clarion call for rationality."
