Washington (CNN) - Nevada Gov. Jim Gibbons lost his bid Tuesday for re-election, the Associated Press projects.
Brian Sandoval, a former federal judge, won the Republican primary. Meanwhile, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s son, Rory, won the Democratic gubernatorial nomination.

(CNN) - The Associated Press projects that state Rep. Nikki Haley and Congressman Gresham Barrett will meet in a June 22 runoff election to determine the Republican nominee for South Carolina governor. Haley, they predict, will come up shy of the 50% threshold necessary to avoid a runoff.
