

(CNN) - The U.S. Senate race out of Connecticut is all tied up between Rep. Chris Murphy, the Democrat, and Linda McMahon, the Republican, a new poll shows.
The two are vying to replace the retiring Sen. Joseph Lieberman, an independent Democrat, who is retiring this year after this fourth term in the upper chamber.

(CNN) – A new poll in the race to fill the Connecticut U.S. Senate seat being vacated by independent Sen. Joe Lieberman shows the party frontrunners increasing their leads since the last survey in March.
Democrat Rep. Chris Murphy has grown his lead from 12 points to 30 over Susan Bysiewicz, the Quinnipiac University poll found, while Republican Linda McMahon is now ahead of former Rep. Chris Shays by 29 points. She had a nine point advantage over Shays in the previous Quinnipiac survey, released March 22.

(CNN) - Former wrestling executive Linda McMahon won the Connecticut Republican convention by a wide margin Friday night, crossing one hurdle in her second bid for a U.S. Senate seat from the state in two years.
"My family and I are humbled by the overwhelming support we received tonight at the Connecticut Republican Convention," she wrote on her Facebook page.

(CNN) – It's advantage President Barack Obama in Connecticut ahead of the 2012 presidential election, according to a new poll.
The Quinnipiac University survey released Thursday showed Obama trumping his potential Republican opponents in the general election. He beat Mitt Romney 53% to 37% and Rick Santorum 55% to 35% among registered voters in hypothetical matchups.

(CNN) – Chris Shays, a former Republican congressman who lost his Connecticut seat to a Democrat in 2008, announced Wednesday he was challenging wrestling executive Linda McMahon in a GOP primary for the Senate seat opening up in the state.
Speaking in Hartford, Shays said the 2012 election was too important to send a political novice to Washington.

Washington (CNN) - Former professional wrestling executive Linda McMahon announced Tuesday she was making another bid for Senate in Connecticut, almost one year after spending tens of millions of dollars on an unsuccessful run against Democratic Sen. Richard Blumenthal.

Washington (CNN) - Democratic Rep. Chris Murphy holds an early 11-point lead in a new poll over Republican Linda McMahon, a former WWE executive, in the race to fill Connecticut Sen. Joe Liebermann’s vacated seat in 2012.
The new Quinnipiac survey shows Murphy leading McMahon, who has not yet officially declared her candidacy, 49 percent to 38 percent in the hypothetical race. Though Murphy also leads former Connecticut Secretary of State Susan Bysiewicz 36 percent to 26 percent in the Democratic primary, Bysiewicz leads McMahon in the general election 46 percent to 38 percent.

(CNN) – As the dust settles in Connecticut's U.S. Senate race tonight, there is talk of unity but also some residual sparring over money.
Republican Linda McMahon, a former pro-wrestling executive, defended her decision to spend tens of millions of dollars of her own money on her campaign, calling it, "An investment that I hoped would be for the people of Connecticut." "I believe I delivered," McMahon told reporters, "I absolutely do believe that we have Washington listening more and hopefully, we have our state legislature listening more."
