Obama hits Louisiana fund-raisers

(CNN) - On the final stop of his three-day tour of the western United States, President Barack Obama will attend two campaign fund-raisers in New Orleans Wednesday evening while in town to address the National Urban League.

According to an Obama campaign official, the first event is at the home of Lori and Bobby Savoie. The president will meet at Savoie's home in Metarie where roughly 20 people paid $25,000 each to attend. Savoie is the CEO of Geocent, "one of the largest Information Technology and Engineering Services Companies headquartered in New Orleans," according to the company's web site.

Under attack, Romney accuses Obama of cronyism

Pittsburgh, Penn. (CNN) – As Mitt Romney's opponents continued to hammer him over details of his business record, the presumptive GOP nominee sought to change the conversation Monday with sharp criticism of President Barack Obama's record in office.

After a weekend dominated by family time, Monday was also a banner day of fund-raising for Romney. He headlined two events that raised roughly $3.7 million, according to pool reports.

Jarrett to NABJ: White House bracing for health care decision

New Orleans (CNN) - As the Supreme Court prepares to make a historic ruling on the fate of President Barack Obama's health care law, his top adviser shifted attention on the rest of the White House's legislative agenda rather than the potential dismantling of its signature piece of legislation.

Valerie Jarrett, Obama's senior adviser and close family friend, told a group of black journalists Saturday that the administration is prepared for the court's decision – which could come as early as Monday – then went on to attack Republicans in Congress for what she called a strategy of "no."

In the 'Big Easy,' vice president addresses journalists

New Orleans (CNN) – Fresh from rallying public employees and union workers in Los Angeles on Tuesday, Vice President Joe Biden mixed a dose of humor with blunt seriousness at the National Association of Black Journalist convention on Wednesday.

“I believe the differences in this election are stark,” he said. “I believe Romney and this new Republican Party - because this ain’t your father’s Republican Party — (and) their social policy… is a throwback to the ’50’s.”

Santorum's Louisiana win does little to change the game of delegate math

(CNN) - Rick Santorum's convincing win in Louisiana's GOP primary does little to change the delegate math that has rival Mitt Romney with a more than 2-to-1 lead, raising questions about whether he can generate broader appeal to win the nomination.

Santorum told supporters after Saturday's win in Louisiana that the race was far from over, recalling the naysayers who said Ronald Reagan was too conservative to win the nomination.

Will a Santorum win in Louisiana change GOP race?

(CNN) - Registered Republicans voted Saturday in Louisiana's primary while Rick Santorum, heavily favored to win there, and Newt Gingrich assailed President Barack Obama's energy policies and Mitt Romney's hefty campaign war chest.
