Atlanta (CNN) – Mitt Romney's campaign is looking ahead to a big upcoming contest. Tuesday it purchased almost one million dollars of ad time in Illinois, according to the latest ad tracking numbers.
Romney's campaign bought more than $800,000 of broadcast time for ads beginning to air Wednesday with most of the buy concentrated in the Chicago market, according to a Republican media consultant not associated with a campaign or super PAC. It also purchased $135,000 in cable time throughout the state.

Tampa, Florida (CNN) – Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal wants to help Texas Gov. Rick Perry become president - but he does not want to be Perry's vice-president.
(CNN) - Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal filed Tuesday to run for another four-year term in office.
"I am pleased and honored the people have entrusted me to be their governor these past three and a half years,” Jindal said in an e-mail to supporters. “I'm officially asking them today to elect me to a second term.”

And a biting new ad released Thursday proved no exception.
"Our tax dollars pay David Vitter's salary and he used it for prostitutes," the narrator in the ad says. "In return we got a disgraced senator… The real sin is that David Vitter is still a senator."
