As Romney continues to plot his post-election future, the retreat further signals he’s serious about staying active on policy fronts or political arenas.

In his first major speech since last November's defeat, Romney cited governors in traditionally Democratic states as examples of effective conservative leadership who could make inroads nationwide. Romney himself served as governor of Massachusetts before making bids for president in 2008 and 2012.

(CNN) – South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley will introduce Mitt Romney at a gathering of conservative activists on Friday, a GOP source told CNN.
Haley, who endorsed Romney early in last year's Republican primary contest, wasn't previously listed as a featured speaker at the Conservative Political Action Conference, the annual confab of activists that's taking place this week at a resort just outside Washington in suburban Maryland.

Washington (CNN) – Scott Romney, the elder brother of former Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney, is considering running for the Senate seat that will be vacated by retiring Sen. Carl Levin of Michigan next year.
"He's interested and seriously looking at it," a friend of the Romney family told CNN Political Director Mark Preston on Friday. The Romneys' father, the late George Romney, was governor of the state in the 1960s.

"I would've loved to have done it, and I am turning 64, and I started thinking about it," she said on "Fox News Sunday." "I'm not really as flexible as I should be."
