
Sioux City, Iowa (CNN) – South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley said her decision to endorse Mitt Romney in the Republican presidential race became clear two weeks ago.
At the end of November, Haley ducked out of a Republican Governors Association meeting in Orlando and drove down to Tampa to meet privately with Romney.

Washington (CNN) - Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich will overnight at the South Carolina governor's mansion next month during a campaign visit to early primary state, a spokesman for Gov. Nikki Haley said Monday.
Each of the Republican candidates are angling for Haley's endorsement, and Gingrich will be the second candidate to crash at the mansion after Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann, who has already stayed there twice this year.

Columbia, South Carolina (CNN) - As the debate over Texas Gov. Rick Perry mandating the HPV vaccine continues between Republican presidential candidates, a woman whose endorsement is coveted by all them, South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, has her own complicated history on the issue.
In 2007, shortly before Perry issued an executive order requiring that schoolgirls be vaccinated against the sexually transmitted human papillomavirus, or HPV, that causes most cervical cancers, Haley was throwing her support behind a similar bill in South Carolina. At the time she was in her second term as a state representative.

Charleston, South Carolina - At a conservative gathering in South Carolina, Gov. Nikki Haley called Gov. Rick Perry a “superstar” and said his move to announce his run for president in her state, while other GOP contenders competed in the Ames Iowa straw poll, was brilliant.
“It just let’s us know that it’s game on for all the candidates and I love that,” Haley told reporters, referring to Perry’s announcement at the RedState Gathering where she spoke earlier.
