
Washington (CNN) - Two days after Democrats suffered losses in special House seat elections, Republican campaign officials are calling the pair of defeats a reflection of President Barack Obama's failed economic record, and predicting similar losses for Democrats running on Obama's ticket in 2012.
In a memo released to Republican members of Congress and their staffs and obtained first by CNN, National Republican Congressional Committee Political Director Mike Shields says Democrats' stances on issues like the economy and Medicare cost the party the two contested seats in New York and Nevada.

(CNN) – The Democratic fundraising arm for the House of Representatives raised more money than its Republican counterpart in July, but the GOP committee holds an advantage in cash on hand, according to their latest reports.
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee raised $4.02 million in July, compared to the $3.84 million raised by the National Republican Congressional Committee. The monthly hauls bring their yearly totals to $37.70 million and $37.38 million, respectively.

Washington (CNN) - In the battle for control of the House of Representatives, the National Republican Congressional Committee has twice as much money in the bank as its Democratic counterpart.
The NRCC revealed late Monday that the party committee has $10.6 million cash on hand as of June 1, double the $5.3 million the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee reported having in the bank as of the end of last month.

Washington (CNN) – A hefty third party advertising buy is bringing renewed national attention to New York's 26th district as the race there becomes a referendum of sorts on the House GOP budget plan.
The May 24th special election pits Republican New York State Assembly member Jane Corwin against Democrat Kathleen Hochul and independent Tea Party candidate Jack Davis, a conservative former Democrat who may siphon votes from Corwin.

Washington (CNN) - The National Republican Congressional Committee is launching new television ads and robo-calls attacking Democrats for supporting their party's fiscal blueprint instead of the House GOP budget plan, in the latest round of political attack ads.
The robo-calls, which begin Thursday and the television ads, which begin Friday target 23 Democratic representatives, according NRCC Deputy Communications Director Joanna Burgos.

(CNN)–The latest volley between Democrats and Republicans as they try to gain the public relations momentum in the battle of the budget comes from the House Republicans. On Tuesday the National Republican Congressional Committee, responsible for electing Republicans to the House, went up with a campaign aimed at 13 Democratic incumbents.
The committee, launching a similar effort to its Democratic counterpart, is launching radio ads, robocalls and other measures to try to put pressure on the Democrats.

(CNN) - Vice President Joe Biden blasted Republicans during a fundraiser in Philadelphia on Friday, comparing their approach to the budget battle to the mentality of "blaming the victim" of a rape.
The remarks came as he appeared at a Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) event with former Pennsylvania Sen. Arlen Specter, then a Republican, who co-authored the Violence Against Women Act with him. Biden referenced the act in his comparison to Republicans, saying that before it was passed, "there was this attitude in our society of blaming the victim."

Washington (CNN) - The Democratic and Republican Congressional fundraising arms launched campaigns Wednesday targeting vulnerable candidates ahead of the 2012 election.
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) will run automated phone calls, web ads and emails throughout the week aimed at 50 House Republicans for "backing partisan plans that make the wrong budget choices."

Washington (CNN) - New Jersey Republican Gov. Chris Christie will headline the National Republican Congressional Committee's annual fundraising dinner in March, the group announced Friday.
In a statement, NRCC Chair Pete Sessions, R-Texas, said, "Governor Christie has become a highly regarded Republican since winning his gubernatorial race in 2009, and we are excited that he will be joining us in March. With his credentials and experience, his address will be of great value to our supporters as we continue to build on our historic gains for 2012."

Washington (CNN) – Just minutes after being handed the speaker's gavel by outgoing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, new Speaker John Boehner is already asking for financial support.
In an email put out by the National Republican Congressional Committee, Boehner points out that "with President Obama in the White House and Democrats running the Senate, we're still outnumbered in Washington."
