First on CNN: Health care confusion gives GOP fodder for Senate campaign ads

Washington (CNN) – Starting Wednesday, Republicans will start hitting Democrats on the campaign trail with the same criticism they've leveled at President Barack Obama in the past few days: "false promises" when it comes to health care.

First on CNN: NRSC targets vulnerable Democrats

Washington (CNN) – As the Senate begins getting down to the business on Friday of whether to defund the health care law backed by President Barack Obama, a national Republican political committee cautions Democratic incumbents facing tough reelection fights.

"Today, Democrats may have one last opportunity to save their Senate seat by opposing an amendment to fund Obamacare," reads a release the National Republican Senatorial Committee is sending to five states that have a Democratic senator and large numbers of conservatives.

FIRST ON CNN: National Republicans putting money in sleeper Pennsylvania Senate race

Washington (CNN) – National Republicans are dedicating half a million dollars to the GOP candidate trying to unseat Democratic Sen. Bob Casey of Pennsylvania, CNN has learned.

With 11 days to go before Election Day, this is the first time the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) has invested in this race, a surprise since most political prognosticators consider this Senate seat likely to stay in Democratic hands.

GOP campaign arm bails on Akin's Senate bid, source says

(CNN) - The National Republican Senatorial Committee will no longer support Rep. Todd Akin of Missouri in his U.S. Senate bid, a source from the group told CNN Senior Congressional Correspondent Dana Bash on Monday.

It was communicated to the congressman that the NRSC will be pulling out if he decides to stay in the race, the source said one day after the Senate candidate sparked a firestorm by claiming that "legitimate rape" rarely resulted in pregnancy.

Christine O'Donnell: Witch ad was a mistake

(CNN) – Former Delaware Senate candidate Christine O'Donnell is not a witch and hated the commercial that stated that fact.

Promoting her new book, Troublemaker, on "Good Morning America" Tuesday, the tea party poster-candidate admitted that the infamous spot which attempted to distance her from past comments that she'd "dabbled into witchcraft" wasn't the best choice.
