
(CNN) - On the day of the second presidential debate, Mitt Romney and President Obama make their way to Hempstead, New York for the big showdown. Meanwhile, their surrogates are on the trail: Paul Ryan in Virginia and Michelle Obama in North Carolina.
Vice President Joe Biden will attend the funeral for Sen. Arlen Specter, who died Sunday.

(CNN) - As both presidential candidates prepare for Tuesday's debate - Mitt Romney in Boston and President Obama in Williamsburg, Virginia - their surrogates will be out on the trail.
Paul Ryan, Romney's running mate, will hold a campaign rally in Waukesha, Wisconsin before heading to Cincinnati for a second campaign event. Ann Romney also campaigns in Pennsylvania.
Michelle Obama will hold campaign rallies in Ohio.
