CNN Poll: Romney tops Obama but loses to Clinton

Washington (CNN) - If a rematch of the 2012 presidential election were held today, GOP nominee Mitt Romney would top President Barack Obama in the popular vote, according to a new national survey.

But a CNN/ORC International poll also indicates that if Romney changes his mind and runs again for the White House, Hillary Clinton would best him by double digits in a hypothetical showdown.

CNN Poll: Obama approval rating drops as fears of depression rise

(CNN) – President Barack Obama's overall approval rating has dropped below 50 percent as a growing number of Americans worry that the U.S. is likely to slip into another Great Depression within the next 12 months, according to a new national poll.

A CNN/Opinion Research Corporation poll released Wednesday also indicate that the economy overall remains issue number one to voters, with other economic issues - unemployment, gas prices and the federal deficit - taking three of the remaining four spots in the top five.

CNN Poll: Majority gives thumbs down to Ryan plan

Washington (CNN) - A new national poll indicates that a majority of Americans don't like what they've heard so far about congressional Republicans' plans to change Medicare.

According to a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey, a majority also don't think the GOP has cooperated enough with President Barack Obama and, for the first time since they won back control of the House last November, the number of Americans who say that Republican control of the chamber is good for the country has dropped below the 50 percent mark.

CNN Poll: Does Trump have the right stuff to be president?

Washington (CNN) - Most Americans don't think that Donald Trump has many of the traits they typically look for in a president - including honesty, empathy, and an ability to manage the government, according to a new national poll.

But a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey released Friday does indicate that the public says the billionaire businessman, real estate mogul and reality TV star is intelligent, tough enough to handle a crisis and not a typical politician. Trump has been flirting with running for the White House and says he'll announce by June whether he'll launch a bid for the Republican presidential nomination.

CNN Poll: Trump at 10 percent in hypothetical GOP battle

Washington (CNN) - If Donald Trump decides to run for the White House, he would just barely crack double digits in the crowded field of potential GOP candidates, but his entry into the race could hurt former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, according to a new national poll.

A CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey released Wednesday also indicates that Democrats may have started to close the enthusiasm gap that plagued them in last year's midterm elections.

CNN Poll: Obama approval drops to 50 percent

Washington (CNN) - A loss of support among low income men and among independent voters appears to be behind the drop in President Barack Obama's approval rating, according to a new national poll.

A CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey released Tuesday indicates that 50 percent of Americans approve of the job Obama's doing in the White House, down five points from late January. Forty-seven percent of those questioned say they disapprove of how the president is handling his duties.

Washington (CNN) - Most Americans like the new tax cut law that President Barack Obama signed into law on Friday, according to a new national poll.

And a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey released Monday also indicates that while the tax cut compromise the president struck with congressional Republicans didn't spark Obama's overall approval rating, it may have given him a boost as "Triangulator in Chief."
