Clinton to ambassadors: Stay put

Washington (CNN) – The 2012 presidential election is weighing on Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's mind, but it's a human resource issue that is her biggest concern.

Addressing U.S. ambassadors from around the world who are back in Washington for a group conference, Clinton asked those whose terms are expected to end this summer or following the elections to stay in their jobs, amid fears that political infighting might make it difficult to replace them before the election.

Clinton clarifies Obama 'win' remark, issues warning on Afghanistan, Syria

Rabat, Morocco (CNN) – Criticism of President Barack Obama's apology for the burning of Qurans in Afghanistan is not helpful, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said Sunday in a wide-ranging interview with CNN.

"I find it somewhat troubling that our politics would enflame such a dangerous situation in Afghanistan," Clinton said of the complaints by Republican presidential candidates and some experts about Obama's apology.

BLITZER's BLOG: Running for president is a family affair

(CNN) – I remember interviewing Hillary Clinton near the end of her very grueling run for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2008. She had been on the campaign trail for a long time. She had worked really hard, especially in the final months as Barack Obama was challenging her. You could see the strain she was under.

During those tough times, her daughter, Chelsea, suddenly had become very visible on the campaign trail. She spoke for her mother all the time, often introducing her at campaign events, and did very well. You could see how proud Hillary Clinton was.

Poll: The Rubio & Clinton factor in Florida

mug.steinhauser

(CNN) – Mitt Romney and Herman Cain are tied at the top in the battle for Florida's Republican primary, according to a new poll. And a Suffolk University survey of Sunshine State voters also indicates that adding Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida to the GOP ticket would change the political landscape in the key battleground state.

According to the poll, 25% of registered Republicans in Florida say they support Romney, the former Massachusetts governor who's making his second bid for the White House, with 24% backing Cain, the businessman, former Godfather's Pizza CEO and radio talk show host. Romney's one point margin is well within the survey's sampling error.
