Tampa, Florida (CNN) – A stand off between Ron Paul supporters and the Republican National Committee over convention delegates appears to be easing, and both sides are close to announcing a deal that could help avoid a potentially embarrassing moment for Mitt Romney on the day he receives the GOP presidential nomination.
The deal, which is expected to be announced Tuesday afternoon, will seat more Paul delegates at next week's Republican National Convention, an act that could help prevent an organized effort by Paul supporters to try and bring Monday's opening session to a grinding halt.
Washington (CNN) - Ron Paul's presidential campaign isn't done fighting for more delegates at the Republican National Convention.
The Texas congressman's campaign sent a memo to the all RNC members, its counsel's office and the convention's credentials committee Friday evening, ahead of its second appeal to strip Louisiana of its delegates to the convention because of rules that it says were violated during the state convention.
(CNN) – The Ron Paul 2012 campaign is preparing to challenge the entire slate of Louisiana's 46 delegates selected to attend the Republican National Convention next month in Tampa, Florida.
Paul's campaign asserts the final list of delegates released Friday that were selected during the state party's convention last month were chosen against the rules. At the time, Paul supporters held their own rump convention, or protest vote, in the same room, which composed a majority of those attending.
Washington (CNN) - As Republicans prepare to gather for their convention and formally nominate Mitt Romney as their presidential candidate, Sen. Rand Paul, son of Rep. Ron Paul, has some optimistic advice for his father's ardent supporters.
Asked about the libertarian political movement that has grown up around his father in the 2008 and 2012 presidential election cycles, the Kentucky senator told CNN Thursday that his father has had "an enormous effect." The younger Paul noted that there are now congressional candidates running around the country that were inspired by his father "and some of them are winning [in some GOP primaries]."
(CNN) – Ron Paul says it would help Mitt Romney politically to release more of his tax returns.
The longtime congressman from Texas and GOP presidential candidate is the latest in a number of Republicans who think the presumptive GOP nominee would be wise to give further transparency into his finances to satisfy a political calling headed by Democrats.
(CNN) – While his son came out in support for Mitt Romney last week, Rep. Ron Paul of Texas said Tuesday he won't be following suit.
"No. Not ready. No way," Paul said on CNN's "The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer" when asked if he was ready to endorse Romney.
Washington (CNN) - The Republican National Committee is brushing off a lawsuit against the party by Ron Paul supporters as "frivolous" but it is nonetheless coordinating a "joint defense" effort to fight the legal challenge, according to an internal RNC memorandum obtained by CNN Tuesday.
The complaint, filed in U.S. District Court in California last Tuesday by over 100 self-described delegates to the Republican National Convention in Tampa, alleges that the RNC and its chairman, Reince Priebus, quietly and improperly aided Mitt Romney throughout the GOP nomination fight.
(CNN) - Ron Paul, who has not officially dropped his bid for the Republican presidential nomination, admitted to supporters in an email Wednesday he was not positioned to receive enough delegates to challenge Mitt Romney at the GOP convention in Tampa.
The delegate math, however, won't stop his supporters from voicing their stance on small government and fiscal reform, Paul wrote.
(CNN) - On Friday, Mitt Romney returns to New Hampshire. The former governor of neighboring Massachusetts, Romney won the state's first-in-the-nation primary back in January.

Arlington, Virginia (CNN) - Ron Paul supporters have a plan.
As they doggedly work the Republican system from the ground up, electing more of their team as delegates to the Republican National Convention, they have a heavyweight plan that's markedly different from the rumors of convention subterfuge and the guess of simply getting their candidate to the podium.
