Kerry picked from 'binders of senators'

Boca Raton, Florida (CNN) - Sen. John Kerry seized on a recent comment by Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney to describe his experience playing Romney in President Barack Obama's debate prep.

"I was chosen from binders of senators," Kerry told CNN Chief White House Correspondent Jessica Yellin. "I got pretty good at being the other guy, so good that when I went home my dog growled at me so I knew I was doing well."

McCain: Obama should own 'abject failure' in Middle East

Boca Raton, Florida (CNN) – Sen. John McCain of Arizona, a top surrogate for Mitt Romney, unleashed some strong words against President Barack Obama on Monday, hours before the presidential candidates face off in their final debate.

Asked if Romney should give Obama credit for the killing of Osama bin Laden, McCain said he believes all American credit the president with the raid but added Obama should also take responsibility for "the abject failure throughout the Middle East."

Romney debate strategy: Why a CEO makes a good commander in chief

Washington (CNN) - Mitt Romney is planning to shed the scrappy in-your-face debate strategy from last week's town hall and replace it Monday night with a calmer demeanor - someone voters can imagine as commander-in-chief, CNN has learned.

"I don't think this is necessarily a debate where you're going to see point-for-point scoring," Romney adviser Dan Senor told CNN.

Giuliani, O'Brien take part in fiery debate

(CNN) - Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani argued Monday on CNN that President Barack Obama should have known from "common sense" that the U.S. consulate in Libya was at risk prior to last month's deadly attacks in Benghazi.

When pressed further on his point, however, Giuliani engaged in a heated exchange with Soledad O'Brien, anchor of CNN's "Starting Point."
