
(CNN) - The Obama impersonator who stole the show at the Republican Leadership Conference in New Orleans this past weekend is speaking out against reports that he was yanked from the stage because of his controversial performance.
Comedian Reggie Brown told CNN's Kyra Phillips Monday that it was the length of his performance – not its content – that led organizers to escort him off of the stage, but acknowledged some of his jokes may have touched a nerve with the Republican crowd.

New Orleans, Louisiana (CNN) - Jon Huntsman was a no-show at the Republican Leadership Conference in New Orleans, but the former Utah governor raised eyebrows with a surprising second place in the conference’s 2012 presidential straw poll Saturday.
Texas Rep. Ron Paul, who delivered a fiery and well-attended speech here in Friday, continued his record of strong straw poll performances and won the vote outright with 612 votes. Huntsman came next with 382 votes.

Brown took the stage to laughter and a few shouts of "Where's your birth certificate?"
New Orleans, Louisiana (CNN) – Rick Perry doesn't speak for a few hours here at the Republican Leadership Conference, but the longtime governor from neighboring Texas, who's flirting with a bid for the GOP presidential nomination, is already getting positive reviews from this partisan crowd.
As Perry arrived Saturday morning for a book signing, the crowd of at least 100 people briefly chanted "run Rick, run." His book, entitled “Fed Up,” was released last year.
Perry, who is scheduled to address the conference later Saturday afternoon, looked and sounded a bit like a presidential candidate this past week when speaking at Republican party gathering in New York City and an anti-abortion event in California.

New Orleans, Louisiana (CNN) – Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann explained her skepticism of evolution on Friday and said students should be taught the theory of intelligent design.
Bachmann, a congresswoman from Minnesota, also proposed a major overhaul of the nation’s education system and said state administrators should be able to decide how they spend money allocated to them by the federal government.
