Louisiana governor endorses Romney

(CNN) – He was one of Rick Perry's highest profile endorsers - before the Texas governor dropped out of the race in January - and now, he is lending his support to Mitt Romney.

Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal announced his endorsement of Romney on Tuesday, the day former Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania - Romney's closest competitor - dropped out of the race.

Santorum, Perry privately met in Texas

(CNN) – Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum met with former opponent Rick Perry earlier this week, CNN confirmed Friday.

"We viewed it was a courtesy visit," Perry's spokesman Ray Sullivan said, without discussing specifics of the conversation.

Gingrich, Perry aides downplay talk of pre-convention ticket

Atlanta (CNN) - Aides to Newt Gingrich and Rick Perry are downplaying a report the Gingrich campaign is contemplating offering the Texas Governor the number two slot on a presidential ticket.

"Of course we think very highly of Gov. Perry and appreciate very much his generous support, but this is not a topic the two principals have discussed," Kevin Kellems, a senior adviser to the Gingrich campaign, told CNN.

Perry to undergo outpatient surgery Friday

(CNN) – Texas Gov. Rick Perry is slated for an outpatient surgical procedure on Friday, his office announced in a Thursday afternoon statement.

The procedure is to "repair his right clavicle, which did not heal properly after a 2009 bike accident" and will take place in Austin, the statement said.

Perry: GOP race could lead to brokered GOP convention

Mesa, Arizona (CNN) – None of the remaining Republican candidates for the White House may get enough votes to win the party's nomination outright, Texas Gov. Rick Perry said following Wednesday's CNN/Arizona Republican Party debate.

Such a scenario could result in a brokered convention when GOP delegates meet in Tampa in August, although the former presidential candidate doesn't see that as a problem.

Perry: Republican race is far from over

Washington (CNN) - Texas Gov. Rick Perry, who endorsed Newt Gingrich after his own presidential bid faltered, said Thursday that the Republican presidential race is still a long way from over.

Perry said that Rick Santorum's victories in Minnesota, Missouri and Colorado on Tuesday indicate that Republicans are not yet ready to get behind Mitt Romney's frontrunning candidacy.

Perry blew through cash in final months of campaign

(CNN) - Rick Perry, the Texas governor and former presidential candidate, spent almost all of the campaign money his organization raised before dropping out of the race in January.

Perry, who began the fourth quarter with roughly $15 million, spent $14.2 million during the last months of his campaign, according to documents filed with the Federal Election Commission late Monday.

Gingrich receives the Perry endorsement on his bus

Beaufort, South Carolina (CNN) - Newt Gingrich's campaign bus idled in front of a scheduled town hall so the former House speaker could watch Texas Gov. Rick Perry announce he was ending his presidential run.

Afterwards, Gingrich told hundreds gathered on Beaufort's historic waterfront, "I was very honored and very humbled to have Gov. Perry speak so well about endorsing me."
