Santorum to Iowa State Fair

(CNN) – Former Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania said Friday he plans to attend the Iowa State Fair in August, a traditional stop in the first-in-the-nation caucus state for those considering a run for president.

In an interview with CNN’s Jim Acosta, Santorum also criticized the Food and Drug Administration approval this week of the Plan B One-Step emergency contraception pill without a prescription for women 15 and older.

First on CNN: Santorum to focus on GOP's future in Iowa

(CNN) - Republicans hoping to regain the White House in 2016 would make a mistake by ignoring social issues, one of those potential candidates said Monday.

Rick Santorum, who says he's open to another White House bid and already speaks like a candidate, told CNN the GOP's focus on the economy and taxes, instead of social issues, was what led to presidential losses for the party in the last two cycles.

Pat Boone joins Santorum in backing Sanford rival

(CNN) - Curtis Bostic, running against former Gov. Mark Sanford for a spot on the ballot in South Carolina's U.S. House election, received a boost this week when two prominent conservative endorsed him.

Rick Santorum, the former Pennsylvania senator and 2012 presidential candidate, touted Bostic's "robust conservative values" in an endorsement Tuesday, saying he would campaign for the candidate ahead of next Tuesday's vote.

In tearful remarks, Santorum speaks of pain

(CNN) – Former Sen. Rick Santorum delivered a solemn but forceful rallying cry when speaking about the death of a close family member Friday at the Conservative Political Action Conference.

With tears in his eyes, the former presidential candidate talked emotionally about his nephew who passed away Thursday in Pittsburgh from what Santorum described as "a horribly painful disease that almost overnight began ravaging his body."

(CNN) - Rick Santorum's headed to Iowa, some two years and nine months before the next Iowa caucuses.

The Iowa Faith and Freedom Coalition announced Tuesday that the former senator from Pennsylvania and 2012 GOP presidential candidate will keynote its annual Spring Kickoff, which will be held April 15.

Santorum says scouts may not survive if gays allowed

(CNN) – Potential changes which could end the ban on gay boy scouts signal "a challenge to the Scouts' very nature," conservative activist and former Sen. Rick Santorum wrote Monday.

His column, published online on the right wing website World Net Daily, comes as the Boy Scouts of America prepares to discuss changing their longstanding national ban on gay scouts and scoutmasters at an upcoming meeting.

(CNN) - Opponents of abortion congregated on the National Mall in Washington on Friday and counted several prominent members of Congress and other political figures among their ranks.

The demonstrators at the March for Life marked the 40th anniversary earlier this week of the Supreme Court ruling in favor of abortion rights in the 1973 case Roe v. Wade.

2016 not far off at crucial conservative conference

Washington (CNN) - Four possible 2016 GOP White House hopefuls will speak at this year's Conservative Political Action Conference, a popular cattle call for Republicans considering bids for the White House.

CNN has learned that 2012 GOP presidential candidate Rick Santorum will address CPAC. A senior adviser to the former two-term senator from Pennsylvania says Santorum has accepted an invitation to speak at the conference, which this year will be held March 14-16.
