Santorum: Romney hasn't called me for VP vetting

(CNN) - Former Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum said in a Monday interview with an Iowa radio station that his party's presumptive nominee hasn't been in touch with his one-time rival as part of the vice presidential vetting process.

"You'd have to ask (former Massachusetts) Governor Romney who he's considering," Santorum said, but "I haven't been in touch with the Romney campaign, so I suspect that we're not under active consideration at this point."

Santorum returns to Iowa, but not for Romney

(CNN) – Rick Santorum visited all 99 counties in Iowa before winning the most votes in the state's first-in-the-nation caucuses. In mid-July he'll return to the state, though his official schedule doesn't mention any events with now-presumptive GOP nominee Mitt Romney.

Santorum's trip was announced through the Red, White and Blue Fund, a super PAC that supported the former Pennsylvania senator during his bid for the 2012 GOP presidential nomination. The group billed the visit, slated July 10-11, as an opportunity to "say thank you to supporters, campaign on behalf of several Iowa candidates, and take part in a press conference."

Santorum: Romney's health law 'hasn't worked'

(CNN) – Rick Santorum didn't hold back Thursday when describing the Massachusetts health plan put in place by Mitt Romney, saying the measure pushed through by the GOP presidential candidate left the Bay State with high costs and uninsured citizens.

"I think what you're seeing is it hasn't worked in Massachusetts," Santorum, who has endorsed Romney for president, said of the law on CNN's "Piers Morgan Tonight."

Santorum: On immigration, Obama 'has not faithfully executed' the law

(CNN) - Rick Santorum used a phrase from the presidential oath of office when asserting on CNN's "State of the Union" on Sunday that President Barack Obama crossed the line in an immigration directive he issued on Friday.

The oath is a pledge to "faithfully execute the office of President of the United States" and follow the Constitution.

Romney walking fine line on immigration, Santorum says

(CNN) - In an interview to air Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union,” Rick Santorum offered advice for how GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney could handle the immigration policy announcement President Barack Obama made Friday.

The government will defer deportation for some young people who were brought to the United States as children, have no criminal record, pose no security risk, and are furthering their educations.

The full interview airs Sunday on CNN's "State of the Union," which airs at 9 a.m. and noon ET.

Santorum to social conservatives: Romney's message is 'right on'

Washington (CNN) - Former GOP presidential candidate Rick Santorum gave a signal to social conservatives on Saturday: Mitt Romney's "message is sound. It's solid."

"He hit the points," Santorum said of his one-time rival while at the annual Faith & Freedom Conference and Strategy Briefing in Washington, D.C. "I've talked to Governor Romney, and I have no doubt - and I mean this in all sincerity - I have no doubt he understands the centrality of family. He understands the importance of family for our culture, for our economy, and for our future."

Where are the unity events?

Washington (CNN) – A week after Mitt Romney pulled out of the Republican presidential race in February 2008, he stood next to John McCain, with the national press corps capturing the moment, and said: "I'm officially endorsing his candidacy."

In April 2008, about seven weeks after Mike Huckabee ended his run for the Republican presidential nomination, he and McCain campaigned together. Huckabee was quoted as saying: "The main thing is getting Senator McCain elected."
