Washington (CNN) – After Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney lost the Latino vote by more than 40% in 2012, the Republican Party has started an effort to rebrand itself to be more attractive to the growing demographic.
But that's not going to be easy, according to the results of a new poll released Friday, and will require the Republican Party to turn back the a belief among Latinos that the party doesn't care about them.
(CNN) – A Republican National Committee event Monday commemorating the 1963 "March on Washington" took a political turn when a speaker called out African-American politicians he said are exploiting their posts for dishonest ends.
"We must be honest about those black politicians who are standing on those who sacrificed and are using that position for corrupt purposes," said social activist Bob Woodson Sr., the founder and president of the Center for Neighborhood Enterprise. "We need to call them out, because they are moral traitors. They are moral traitors. But we're silent about that."

The party committee is up with a web video that characterizes the education event in the city where the vice president was born as the first step in the "Biden 2016 kickoff tour."
Boston (CNN) - Members of the Republican National Committee backed a resolution Friday calling on state legislatures to pass legislation "supporting the changing and teaching" of American history to put a greater emphasis on the country's "founding principles."
"School children of the United States of America should understand the sacrifice that has been made for the God-given liberty so that a strong Constitutional Republic in the United States may be secured for future generations," reads the resolution, which passed by a voice vote at Friday's general session of the RNC.
Boston (CNN) - The Republican National Committee approved a resolution Friday vowing to sideline CNN and NBC from the presidential primary debate process in 2016 unless the networks abandon plans to produce programs about Hillary Clinton.
CNN recently commissioned a documentary film about Clinton, the former first lady, U.S. senator and secretary of state, that is scheduled to run in theaters and on CNN sometime in 2014.

Boston (CNN) - New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie planted himself firmly in the Republican Party’s establishment wing Thursday with a pugnacious speech calling on his party to focus on pragmatism rather than ideology and crippling internal debates.
"We are not a debating society,” Christie told a lunchtime audience at the Republican National Committees summer meeting in Boston. “We are a political operation that needs to win."
Boston (CNN) – Former House Speaker and presidential candidate Newt Gingrich reprimanded his fellow Republicans in unusually harsh terms Wednesday, blaming GOP members of Congress for developing "zero" alternatives to President Obama's health care reform law.
Gingrich, who was speaking at the opening session of the Republican National Committee's summer meeting, fielded a question about "Obamacare" and recalled that Republicans were able to block Bill Clinton's health care reform effort in 1994 because they had "a positive alternative approach" to health care.
Washington (CNN) – In a fresh effort to present a more diverse tableau to the American voter, the Republican National Committee is rolling out a "Rising Stars" initiative this week in Boston, the site of the party's summer meeting.
The aim of the program, a party official said, is to leverage the party's resources and national media connections to highlight Republican candidates, elected officials, writers and activists who rarely surface in the national political conversation.
(CNN) – Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus said Sunday that his organization’s planned debate boycott was focused on NBC and CNN – which plan to air films about Hillary Clinton – and not companies which may produce those projects.
Priebus, speaking on CNN’s “State of the Union,” was responding to a question from Chief Political Correspondent Candy Crowley about a report in The New York Times that Fox Television Studios was in the “early stages” of talks to produce NBC’s miniseries about Clinton, set to star Diane Lane. Fox Television Studios is a corporate sibling of Fox News Channel and the Fox broadcast network.
