SNL creator: Republicans can take a joke, Democrats 'take it personally'

(CNN) – The creator of "Saturday Night Live" indicated in a interview that Republicans have a better sense of humor than Democrats.

"Republicans are easier for us than Democrats. Democrats tend to take it personally; Republicans think it's funny," Lorne Michaels told New York Magazine in an article published online Sunday.

GOP senator: Sebelius the 'laughingstock of America'

Washington (CNN) - It appears Republican Sen. John Barrasso is a loyal viewer of "Saturday Night Live."

The Wyoming Republican referred to the NBC comedy staple as he called Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius the "laughingstock of America" on Sunday morning, a day after the show parodied the glitch-fraught launch of the online federal health care exchange.
