(CNN) - They wrangle over nearly everything else, but members of Congress from both parties have found agreement on one topic: Olympic wrestling.
Senators and representatives from both parties stood in agreement Friday against the International Olympic Committee's decision to take wrestling to the mat, eliminating the sport from the games starting in 2020. They introduced resolutions urging the IOC to reinstate it and called on the United States Olympic Committee to "work actively to reverse this decision."
Washington (CNN) - CNN projects Democratic incumbent Sen. Sherrod Brown has won a second term by defeating Republican Treasurer Josh Mandel in Ohio, a state that was closely tied to the presidential race.
Primarily because of those frequent trips from President Barack Obama and Republican candidate Mitt Romney, the contest between Brown and Mandel played out in Ohio against the backdrop of the presidential election.

Mandel said that if elected he would "take a backseat to no one when it comes to fighting for auto jobs, to protect auto jobs, and to grow auto jobs here in the state of Ohio" but said he did not favor the measures.

(CNN) - In a show of Washington bipartisanship, Democratic Sen. Sherrod Brown praised fellow Ohio Sen. Rob Portman, a Republican, for being tapped to serve on the Congressional "super committee."
"Minority Leader McConnell was right to select Senator Portman as one of the three Republican Senators for the deficit reduction committee," Brown said in a statement Wednesday. "Rob has shown a willingness to find common ground by looking at both tax reform and spending cuts in order to reduce the deficit."
Washington (CNN) – Vice President Joe Biden heads to Ohio Tuesday to help out a Democratic senator who could face a tough road to re-election next year.
Biden is the main attraction at a fundraiser for Sen. Sherrod Brown which is being held at the Terrace club at Progressive Field in Cleveland, Ohio. The stadium is home to Major League Baseball's Cleveland Indians.
