Hoboken leaders clear way for new witness in Christie scandal investigation

The U.S. Attorney in New Jersey could be meeting with a new witness soon as part of the investigation into allegations that members of New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie's administration held Superstorm Sandy recovery funds hostage in Hoboken.

The Hoboken city council voted Wednesday night to approve a measure that would allow Mayor Dawn Zimmer to waive attorney-client privileges, paving the way for a city attorney to comply with a subpoena for documents from the U.S. Attorney's office.

(CNN) – CNN Chief Washington Correspondent Jake Tapper became the first journalist to tap into the social media app Jelly, asking people to weigh in on President Barack Obama's State of the Union address.

Jelly is a new app from Twitter co-founder Biz Stone that lets users ask questions using pictures.

Liberals claim momentum from Obama address

Washington (CNN) – President Barack Obama's decision to highlight issues like economic inequality and the minimum wage in the State of the Union address is part of a political shift that promises to benefit Democratic candidates in this year's midterms, a top liberal campaign group said on Wednesday.

Two big themes coming out of Tuesday's address are economic populism and a "new willingness to fight" entrenched conservative interests, said Adam Green of the Washington-based Progressive Change Campaign Committee.

Biden: Clinton won't really affect his 2016 decision

Washington (CNN) - Vice President Joe Biden says Hillary Clinton's decision on whether she will or won't run for president in 2016 will not directly impact his own decision on whether to launch another bid for the White House.

And Biden, making the rounds on the morning network newscasts, said he thinks he'd "make a good president."

Obama to put women's issues 'front and center' in address

(CNN) - Working women and their struggles will form a major part of President Barack Obama's State of the Union address Tuesday night, CNN has learned, underscoring the important role women play both in Obama's domestic agenda and his party's hopes for this year's midterm elections.

During his speech, Obama will call for an end to the wage gap between men and women. On average, women earn 77 cents to every dollar a man makes in the workplace
