Colbert's super PAC says good night

(CNN) – The super PAC started by comedian Stephen Colbert has officially closed its doors, according to filings posted late Tuesday night on the Federal Election Commission's website.

Americans for a Better Tomorrow, Tomorrow Inc.– a super PAC created to mock the 2010 Supreme Court ruling that allowed such entities to form - raked in more than $1.2 million since its start-up in the summer of 2011, the reports showed.

Colbert says he can't tell differences between Romney and Obama

(CNN) – Comedian Stephen Colbert says it will make a difference whether President Barack Obama or Mitt Romney wins the election in November - but he doesn't know what that difference will be.

"I'm not Ralph Nader. I don't think there's no difference," Colbert said in an interview airing Sunday on NBC's "Meet the Press." "There is a difference. I don't know what the difference is, though."

But he does speculate.

Colbert spawns army of crazy super PACs

New York (CNNMoney) – In late March, Stephen Colbert expanded his super PAC experiment, admonishing his late-night viewers to start organizations of their own on college campuses across America.

They listened, and now the Federal Election Commission's roster of approved super PACs is filled with groups registered to addresses in college towns.

Colbert super PAC rakes in $1 million

New York (CNNMoney) - Stephen Colbert's super PAC is working with some serious cash.

Americans For A Better Tomorrow, Tomorrow reported Tuesday that it has raised $1,023,121, according to a document filed with the Federal Election Commission.

(CNN) - Following his big rally endorsing Herman Cain for president in South Carolina last week, comedian Stephen Colbert announced Monday he was calling it quits.

"My fellow Americans of South Carolina: While your turnout on Saturday was historic, unfortunately–and no one could have predicted this–Herman Cain did not win the South Carolina primary," Colbert said on his Comedy Central show.

Colbert: 'I've just started exploring' primary bid

(CNN) - Stephen Colbert says he won't be stopped by officials saying it's too late for him to run in South Carolina's presidential primary.

"They said you can't go to the moon. They said you can't put cheese inside a pizza crust, but NASA did it. They had to, because the cheese kept floating off in space," Colbert told ABC's "This Week" Sunday.

Colbert for president (again)

(CNN) - Faux-news host and comedian Stephen Colbert announced Thursday night he was launching his second run for president in South Carolina.

"I'm proud to announce I plan to form an exploratory committee to lay the groundwork for my candidacy in the United States of South Carolina," Colbert said at a taping of his show Thursday evening.
