(CNN) - Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas is heading back to New Hampshire next weekend. It will be the third visit this year by the freshman Republican senator and potential 2016 presidential contender to the state that holds the first primary in the race for the White House.
According to a source close to the senator, Cruz will speak at the Hillsborough County Republican Committee Primary Dinner on September 6. Another potential 2016 contender, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, will also give remarks at the dinner.
(CNN) - In his strongest words to date, Senate GOP leader Mitch McConnell, R-Kentucky, tried to quash talk that he would allow another government shutdown if he becomes Senate majority leader next year.
"Of course not. Remember me? I am the guy that gets us out of shutdowns," McConnell told CNN in an exclusive interview Wednesday.
"It's a failed policy," he said of shutdowns.
Washington (CNN) – Sen. Ted Cruz on Tuesday forcefully argued that Obamacare is not here to stay and pledged that he would continue working to dismantle the health care law in 2014 and 2016.
“I think those elections should be about many, many things,” the Texas Republican said, listing jobs and growth as examples. “But they should be about repealing every bloody word of Obamacare.”
Washington (CNN) - Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas is calling for an investigation into the bitter and divisive Mississippi Republican Senate primary contest.
"What happened in Mississippi was appalling," the freshman Republican senator from Texas – a rock star among tea party activists and other grassroots conservatives – said Monday.
Washington (CNN) - Sen. Ted Cruz called on President Barack Obama to speak up for a Sudanese woman who's been sentenced to death because she won't renounce her Christian faith.
"We need to speak out against these atrocities," the Texas Republican said Thursday. "We need the president of the United States to say in no uncertain terms, 'Send Meriam home'."
(CNN) - An on-going feud playing out in the Republican Party between lawmakers Rep. Peter King and Sen. Ted Cruz sounds like the very beginning of a GOP presidential primary battle.
Perhaps underscoring an establishment v. tea party division the GOP, King, a longtime congressman from New York, said Wednesday Cruz "has decided to be the center of his own universe" after the conservative powerhouse from Texas dismissed King's criticism of his style of politics.

(CNN) - While Hillary Clinton said Tuesday “there are still some unanswered questions” on the deadly 2012 Benghazi attack, Sen. Ted Cruz argued the former secretary of state is blocking those questions from being answered.
“Secretary Clinton from the beginning has stonewalled on this rather than acting as a partner getting to the bottom of what happened,” the Texas Republican said on CNN’s “Erin Burnett OutFront.”
(CNN) - It's official. Sen. Ted Cruz is now a citizen of the United States - and the United States only.
If you remember, the Texas Republican was born in Canada to an American mother and a Cuban father. As such, he was a dual citizen - an American because of his mother, and Canadian because the country, like America, grants automatic citizenship to anyone born there.
The release of U.S. Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, who was detained by the Taliban for nearly five years, included a heavy dose of partisan politics Sunday morning, less than 24 hours after he was securely in American hands.
National Security Adviser Susan Rice was once again in the line of fire on the political talk shows, just as she was after the deadly attack in Benghazi, Libya, in 2012.
Bergdahl’s release has ignited the debate over negotiating with groups the United States has determined to be terrorists.
(CNN) – Ted Cruz, R-Texas, has won another straw poll, boosting his national profile and elevating his name among potential 2016 presidential contenders.
The firebrand freshman senator and tea party favorite was among a handful of 2016 hopefuls speaking at the Republican Leadership Conference in New Orleans this week.
