(CNN) - Former President George H. W. Bush greeted President Barack Obama and First lady Michelle Obama as they disembarked from Air Force One in Houston on Wednesday.
The former president, seated in a scooter, smiled and spoke with the Obamas for several minutes, according to pool reports.
Fort Hood, Texas (CNN) - For the second time in less than five years President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama traveled to Fort Hood in Texas on Wednesday to honor the memory of U.S. Army soldiers killed in a shooting.
"What makes this so painful is that we've been here before," Obama said. "This tragedy tears a wound still raw from five years ago. Once more, soldiers who survived foreign war zone were struck down here at home where they're supposed to be safe."
(CNN) - Giving a hint at a possible second run for the White House, Texas Gov. Rick Perry said Tuesday on late night TV that, "America is a great place for second chances. Let's keep it at that."
Perry's answer came in an appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live," after the host asked the longtime GOP governor of Texas why he would want to make another presidential bid in 2016 after his 2012 campaign "didn't go so well."

(CNN) - Texas Gov. Rick Perry is playing down a controversial campaign appearance for the Lone Star State’s leading Republican gubernatorial candidate by rocker Ted Nugent, who has stirred outrage with controversial comments about President Barack Obama.
"The idea that Ted Nugent has said something that's outrageous shouldn't surprise anybody. He's been saying outrageous things for a lot of years,” Perry told Wolf Blitzer on Thursday on CNN’s "The Situation Room.”
