Ryan for Congress ad: Safety goggles for safety campaign

(CNN) – One of the first ads for Rep. Paul Ryan's congressional campaign debuted online Wednesday, though the spot's staged conversation with factory workers stands in sharp contrast to the slickly produced ads produced for the Mitt Romney-Paul Ryan GOP presidential ticket.

The ad, which CNN reported last week would air in Milwaukee and Madison, features Ryan speaking to a group of factory workers. One asks, "What can be done to create good jobs?"

Ryan on his love for the hunt

(CNN) – Republican vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan says he remains passionate about hunting despite not getting much practice during the legislative session and not finding venison on many menus in Washington, DC.

Ryan talked about his love for hunting in an interview to be published in October's issue of Deer and Deer Hunting magazine. His start in the sport came in high school, after his father died when he was in the 10th grade, when his dad's friend took him hunting in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

A look at Janna Ryan: 'She's going to bloom where she's planted'

Boston (CNN) – Janna Little Ryan comes from a political family and was already a successful Washington tax attorney and lobbyist by the time she was 30. So when she met her future husband, U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan, she was drawn more to his character than awed by his office.

According to her younger sister, Dana Little Jackson, the Ryans met when the then-29-year-old Wisconsin lawmaker, sick with the flu, was "dragged" by a mutual acquaintance to Janna's 30th birthday party. They soon had their first date over lunch.
