New Rand Paul book to debut in 2015

(CNN) – In another sign that Sen. Rand Paul is taking steps toward a presidential campaign, the Kentucky Republican will come out with a new book early next year.

That's about the same time frame Paul has said he'll make a decision about a White House bid.

Paul told Louisville's Courier-Journal, which first reported the story, that the timing was "just coincidence, probably just coincidence."

Washington (CNN) – If lawmakers delay taking action now on climate change it could cost taxpayers exponentially more in the future to deal with the effects of a warming planet, the White House is warning Tuesday.

A report from President Barack Obama's administration says the costs of mitigating carbon emissions will rise 40% per decade unless something is done now to stem the outpouring of pollutants scientists say are causing global warning.

(CNN) - Gov. Andrew Cuomo defended the work of a commission designed to quell corruption in New York state politics against a report that his office interfered with the panel's investigation.

Nunn campaign defends early campaign memo

(CNN) – Georgia Democratic candidate Michelle Nunn's campaign is defending Monday an early campaign plan detailing challenges the U.S. Senate hopeful might face in courting voters and outreach strategy, after the internal memo was leaked.

Republicans have jumped on the document, obtained by the conservative National Review, as an effort by the Democrat's campaign to exploit voters, while Nunn's team is pushing back, underscoring that the document was "...a draft of a document that was written eight months ago" and was always subject to alternation.

"Like all good plans, they change" campaign manager Jeff DiSantis said in a statement.
