Chris Christie says he's not been subpoenaed in bridge probe

(CNN) - New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie gave a firm "no" Monday when asked if he's been subpoenaed personally as part of a federal investigation of the George Washington Bridge scandal.

Christie made the comments on New Jersey 101.5's monthly "Ask the Governor" radio program.

Another N.J. bridge controversy brewing, and a familiar name surfaces

(CNN) - The George Washington Bridge may not be the only one used in an apparent act of political retribution by appointees of New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, and a familiar name in that scandal has surfaced anew.

While suggestions that top Christie officials orchestrated traffic jams around the nation’s busiest bridge in Fort Lee last year have fueled months of controversy, details have surfaced about another span just to the south.

Obama names new White House counsel

Washington (CNN) – President Barack Obama has tapped Washington lawyer W. Neil Eggleston as White House counsel, the White House said Monday.

He starts the second week in May, replacing Kathryn Ruemmler, one of the President's most trusted advisers.

Obamas open up South Lawn to eager children for Easter Egg Roll

Washington (CNN) – President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama joined the Easter Bunny to welcome a crowd of children, parents and volunteers to the White House South Lawn on Monday for the 136th annual Easter Egg Roll.

The first couple walked onto the Truman Balcony, which overlooks the South Lawn, and the President wished everyone a "Happy Easter." As he looked out onto the crowd he added, "This is the biggest event we have at the White House all year long."

Here's our morning roundup of the big stories Inside Politics on CNN:

The justice and her plans: She’s 81, has had two bouts with cancer and has been on the Supreme Court for 21 years, but Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has made it clear she won’t be rushed off the bench.

It’s no secret that a lot of Democrats would like to see her step down.

There’s certainly no guarantee a Democrat will win the White House in 2016. And more immediately, there’s no guarantee that Democrats will keep their majority in the Senate in 2014. Both elections could complicate Democrats’ hope to replace Ginsburg with an equally liberal justice. FULL POST
