Sarah Palin e-mail message written as though from God

(CNN) – Among the 24,000 pages of e-mail from former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin released on Friday, one message stands out for its signature line. It's signed by the "Creator" and "Your Heavenly Father." In other words, God.

Palin sent the e-mail to family and friends in April 2008 in anticipation of the birth of her and her husband Todd's fifth child, Trig. Palin knew her son would have Down syndrome, and the e-mail is a meditation on that knowledge and on how others should view him in light of the diagnosis.

At debate, Republican candidates spar over Islam

(CNN) - There weren't too many sharp differences among the Republican presidential candidates in Monday night's New Hampshire debate, but a crack did emerge over how Islam and Muslims ought to be treated in the United States.

The CNN debate opened with discussions on economic issues, but later veered toward faith-based matters like the role of religion in candidates' decision making, abortion, gay marriage – and how the United States ought to treat Muslims living within its borders.

Santorum could siphon off religious conservative support from GOP field

(CNN)- Rick Santorum appears to face long odds in the race for the White House, but he threatens to siphon off religious conservative support from better known GOP candidates like Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich, Jon Huntsman and Tim Pawlenty during the primary season.

Santorum, a former U.S. Senator from Pennsylvania, officially launched his presidential campaign on Monday.
