All in the family at Clinton Global Initiative

Chicago (CNN) - Hillary Clinton burst back onto the political scene Thursday, delivering an expansive speech that kicked off the two-day Clinton Global Initiative meeting in Chicago.

In her remarks, the former secretary of state formally announced the group her husband founded more than a decade ago would be renamed to include both herself and daughter Chelsea, making it the official family business. And she described in relative detail the three areas she'll focus on at the organization: early childhood development, expanding opportunities for women and girls, and improving economic development around the world.

Diplomatic snub? First lady skipping China summit

(CNN) - High school reunions, work Christmas parties, brunch with the in-laws, there are a lot of events spouses are obligated to attend. But apparently meetings with the President of China is not one of them for first lady Michelle Obama.

President Barack Obama travels to California for a sit-down with his new counterpart President Xi Jinping this weekend, and he will be going stag.

Treasury says Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s trip was approved

(CNN) - Beyoncé and Jay-Z's recent controversial trip to Cuba was approved by the Treasury Department in advance of their travel, new documents show.

According to a letter obtained by CNN Tuesday, the Treasury Department wrote to two members of Congress who called for an investigation of the trip and explained the type of travel license obtained by the superstar couple.

Not only Democrats are ready for Clinton - Republicans are, too

Washington (CNN) - Just two months have gone by since Hillary Clinton became a private citizen and stepped out of the spotlight for the first time in decades, but already the political world is watching every move she makes in preparation for the 2016 election.

The GOP prepared reams of research documents to use against her back in 2008, but a lot of their ammunition went unused. Republican operatives are openly worrying about a Clinton coronation in 2016, so they plan to make use of it early.
