First on CNN: Christie’s interview with investigators

(CNN) – The first news report linking his top aides to an alleged political payback scheme to close lanes on the George Washington Bridge made Chris Christie “sick to his stomach,” the New Jersey governor told investigators, according to a new memo first obtained by CNN.

After the report in a local paper, Christie called his senior staff to the governor’s mansion. As the meeting began, he was nervous, unsure who else on his staff might be involved in the lane closures.

(CNN) – Newly elected Rep. Vance McAllister asked for forgiveness from God, his family and his constituents after a local newspaper published what it said was surveillance video of the married Louisiana Republican making out with a female staffer.

"There's no doubt I've fallen short and I'm asking for forgiveness. I'm asking for forgiveness from God, my wife, my kids, my staff, and my constituents who elected me to serve. Trust is something I know has to be earned whether your (sic) a husband, a father, or a congressman. (CNN) – The New Jersey state legislative committee investigating Gov. Chris Christie’s involvement in an alleged political payback scheme plans to meet again Tuesday to discuss issuing more subpoenas.

Lawmakers on the committee are particularly interested in getting documents from Christie’s own internal investigation, which last week cleared the New Jersey governor of any involvement in the lane closures to the George Washington Bridge last September.

Updated 5:55 p.m. ET, 3/12/14

(CNN) – The attorney for a former top aide to New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie on Wednesday demanded that state officials investigating a political scandal roiling his administration turn over additional emails they have uncovered.

The move comes a day after the attorney representing the state legislative investigative committee, Reid Schar, asked a judge to enforce a subpoena seeking documents from the ex-aide, former Christie campaign manager Bill Stepien, and another former official, Bridget Kelly, who was the governor's deputy chief of staff.

Some Reid staffers exempt from Obamacare exchanges

Washington (CNN) – Democratic Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, one of Obamacare's architects and staunchest supporters, is also the only top congressional leader to exempt some of his staff from having to buy insurance through the law's new exchanges.

Reid is the exception among the other top congressional leaders. GOP House Speaker John Boehner, House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi and Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell have all directed their staffs to join the exchange, their aides said.

Koch Bros.-backed group gave millions to small business lobby

(CNN) - The National Federation of Independent Business is one of the most influential small-business advocacy groups in the country. They battle against government regulation, higher taxes and, perhaps most famously, Obamacare. And they do it all as the self-described "voice of small business."

But it turns out that the champions of Main Street America got more money last year from a group backed by billionaire industrialists Charles and David Koch than any other single source.
