Has Bachmann replaced Palin in the Tea Party's heart?

(CNN) – With U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota making a splash in the Republican presidential campaign while Sarah Palin sits on the sidelines, is Bachmann edging Palin out of the Tea Party's heart?

While the former Alaska governor, vice presidential candidate and Fox News commentator is still much loved as a smart, media savvy conservative who breathes fire against President Obama and Democrats, it appears that Tea Party excitement for a Palin presidential run has passed.

Hatch showdown? Tea party activists knock on GOP's door, literally

Washington (CNN) – Will it spark an altercation between tea party activists and establishment Republicans?

On Monday, leaders and supporters of FreedomWorks - a major tea party sponsor - will make an unscheduled visit to the offices of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, the group that helps elect Republicans to the Senate. And the activists will deliver a message to the NRSC: butt out of the Utah senate race.

Exeter, New Hampshire (CNN) - And he's off.

Cain warmly embraced at conservative forum despite low poll numbers

Minneapolis (CNN) - If applause, enthusiasm and sustained ovations are any indication, Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain is a strong favorite of committed conservatives - boding well for his campaign despite a low, but rising, standing in several polls.

Those gathered at the final session on the final day of the RightOnline conference on Saturday evening in Minnesota warmly welcomed the former Godfather's Pizza CEO, then repeatedly interrupted his speech with adoring applause.

Pawlenty takes another jab at Romney

Minneapolis, Minnesota (CNN) - In front of a friendly group of conservatives, Tim Pawlenty once again did what he declined to do while standing next to Mitt Romney in Monday’s GOP debate: go on the attack against his presidential rival.

At the RightOnline conference in Minneapolis on Saturday, the former Minnesota governor and presidential candidate re-stated a fresh line he’s recently used: that the former Massachusetts governor is a “co-conspirator” in the nation’s health care law that conservatives love to hate.

Left clicks vs. right clicks: 2012 politics drive competing cyber group conferences

Minneapolis (CNN) - Perhaps the 2012 presidential and congressional races will come down to right clicks versus left clicks.

Such computer jargon that typically refers to two sides of a computer mouse might also become a political metaphor as Internet and social networking savvy groups - aligned with the left and the right - converge on Minneapolis for competing weekend conferences.

Gingrich confronted over cash, charity

Concord, New Hampshire (CNN) – Newt Gingrich's campaign vehemently denied any wrongdoing following an ABC News report Tuesday that questions business practices between two of his organizations, one a for-profit business and the other a charity.

"Despite all the innuendo in the ABC story, their team of journalists did not find any activity that was not fully supported by the law," the GOP presidential candidate's Communications Director Joe DeSantis wrote in a statement.
