Huckabee praises & criticizes Obama

Washington (CNN) - If President Obama is looking for a conservative endorsement, he might find it from potential GOP presidential candidate Mike Huckabee. At the same time, the former Akansas governor is also quite critical of the president.

During a speech at the National Press Club Thursday, Huckabee said it's time for some conservatives to quit questioning the president's Christian faith and added he thinks Obama is a role model for the "primacy of the American family."

Huckabee says he can't afford to run for president early

(CNN) – Running for president can extract a heavy and personal financial toll on a candidate, especially if that candidate doesn't have a so called "day job" at the time or millions in the bank.

And that's why Mike Huckabee says he can't afford to jump into the presidential race any sooner than he absolutely has to.

Santorum compares Wisconsin protesters to drug addicts

Washington (CNN) - All-but-declared presidential candidate Rick Santorum is stirring the pot when it comes to government entitlements, comparing the pro-union protesters in Wisconsin to drug addicts in withdrawal.

Poll: Could Trump beat Obama in 2012?

(CNN) – The notion of Donald Trump running for president is far-fetched to be sure, but a new poll released Tuesday suggests the real estate mogul and perpetual publicity hound could just beat President Obama.

A new survey from Newsweek and The Daily Beast indicates President Obama is ahead of Trump by only two percentage points, 43-41, well within the poll's sampling error of plus or minus 3.5 percent. In fact, Trump fares far better against Obama than Sarah Palin, who would lose to Obama by 11 points, 51-40,  according to the poll.

McDonnell for VP?

(CNN) – Forget about the speculation over who will win the Republican nomination next year. Maybe it's time to think about which rising GOP star will occupy the No. 2 spot on the ticket.

Most Republicans are coy when it comes to whether they'd accept the job if it was offered, but popular Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell isn't hiding the ball: he'd likely say yes.

Limbaugh takes aim at Michelle Obama's waistline

Washington (CNN) - Michelle Obama is taking heat from talk-radio host Rush Limbaugh after a report in the Vail Daily that she consumed a not-so-healthy-meal of ribs for dinner while on a recent visit to the Colorado resort, the latest example of conservative angst directed at the first lady's healthy-eating initiative.

"The problem is, and dare I say this, it doesn't look like Michelle Obama follows her own nutritionary, dietary advice," Limbaugh said Monday on his radio program. "And then we hear that she's out eating ribs at 1,500 calories a serving with 141 grams of fat per serving."

Huckabee: Obama will be tough to beat

Washington (CNN) - Despite finding himself on top of several recent presidential polls, Mike Huckabee continues to appear tepid about mounting a second bid for the White House.

In an interview on ABC's Good Morning America Monday, Huckabee said the process of running is "grueling" and cautioned that President Obama will be extremely difficult for any Republican to unseat.
