Washington (CNN) - Chicago White Sox fan-in-chief President Obama honored the Boston Red Sox at the White House on Tuesday for their 2013 World Series championship, but he slipped in a quick plug for his hometown team while greeting the defending champs.

“Congratulations to the Boston Red Sox and Red Sox Nation. Good luck this season. May the best Sox win,” Obama said.

Obama talks health care, ‘Scandal’ and celebrity selfies with Ellen

(CNN) - With less than two weeks until enrollment closes on Obamacare insurance exchanges, President Obama took his health care pitch to “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” on Thursday, urging moms to get their kids covered and explaining to DeGeneres how different television’s White House is from the real thing.

“If you don’t have health insurance right now, you should go on HealthCare.gov and especially all the moms out there who may have young people - 26, 27 - don’t have health insurance but they think they’re invincible and nothing’s ever going to happen to them,” Obama said in a remote appearance from what the host called the “Ellen Blue Room” at the White House.

President further distances himself from Obamacare ‘doctor’ pledge

(CNN) - It was a promise made by President Barack Obama that first surfaced in the selling of his sweeping health care initiative and eventually required a public apology and new rules to fix after the measure became law.

"If you like the plan you have, you can keep it. If you like the doctor you have, you can keep your doctor, too,” Obama promised in a 2009 weekly address and numerous other times throughout his first term.

HealthCare.gov gets 40% jump in traffic after Funny or Die video

(CNN) - Roughly 24 hours after a video was posted Tuesday morning of President Obama sitting down for an appearance on comedian Zach Galifianakis' show "Between Two Ferns," more than 13 million people have watched the interview and some 54,000 of them have taken the President's advice and checked out the government-run insurance exchange HealthCare.gov.

"I think what it says is that gone are the days when your broadcasts, or yours, or yours, can reach everybody that we need to reach," said White House Press Secretary Jay Carney, pointing to representatives from various major television news outlets at his briefing on Tuesday.

Obama frames minimum wage fight in global terms

New Britain, Connecticut (CNN) – In the midst of managing the nation's response to the ongoing crisis in Ukraine, President Barack Obama enlisted the help of some fellow executives on Wednesday to continue his fight for an increase in the nation's minimum wage.

To help make his case, Obama put his domestic fight in an international context, making a veiled reference to incidents abroad by characterizing the struggles of protesters around the globe as a search for American-style opportunity.
