Christie brushes off Paul's beer proposal

(CNN) - Gov. Chris Christie said Wednesday night he's a little too busy with his re-election bid this year to have a beer with Sen. Rand Paul.

The senator from Kentucky made the pitch earlier in the day, hoping to ease tensions that have escalated in the past week between the two potential 2016 Republican presidential contenders.

Members of Congress are getting wealthier

(CNN) - There's one thing many Democratic and Republican members of Congress have in common: They're rich.

The 113th Congress, which convened the first week of January, has slightly more wealth than members of Congress the previous year, according to new research from the Center for Responsive Politics.

McCain: Obama should own 'abject failure' in Middle East

Boca Raton, Florida (CNN) – Sen. John McCain of Arizona, a top surrogate for Mitt Romney, unleashed some strong words against President Barack Obama on Monday, hours before the presidential candidates face off in their final debate.

Asked if Romney should give Obama credit for the killing of Osama bin Laden, McCain said he believes all American credit the president with the raid but added Obama should also take responsibility for "the abject failure throughout the Middle East."

McDonnell to appear side-by-side with Romney

(CNN) – Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney will appear with Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell during a visit to the Old Dominion on Thursday, a campaign official told CNN.

As governor of a likely battleground state, McDonnell is frequently floated as a possible running mate pick for the likely GOP presidential nominee.
