(CNN) – New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and Mitt Romney will appear at a fundraising event this week for the Republican Governors Association.
The event is Thursday night in Boston, RGA spokesman Jon Thompson said.
Washington (CNN) - The enrollment tools for the Affordable Care Act's Spanish language site are now available as part of a "soft launch" this weekend.
The site's launch was originally scheduled to occur in October, but was delayed as the Department of Health and Human Services focused on the problems with HealthCare.gov.
President Obama, accompanied by first lady Michelle Obama, former President Bill Clinton, and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, will visit the gravesite of former President John F. Kennedy on Wednesday to honor the 50th anniversary of his assassination, an administration official confirms to CNN.
The Obamas and Clintons will participate in a wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery.
Washington (CNN) - An image of a young woman who became known as the "Obamacare girl" is no longer on the homepage of the federal government's health care site.
In the process of changing the homepage of HealthCare.gov to highlight the different enrollment options now being offered, the image of the woman, who has become a symbol of the online federal exchange, was set aside, said an official with Centers for Medicare and Medicaid, or CMS.
Washington (CNN) - On the same day Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius is to testify on Capitol Hill about the Obamacare website problems, President Barack Obama will travel to Boston to talk about the importance of the law, a White House official confirmed to CNN on Sunday.
The event is scheduled for the historic Faneuil Hall, where then-Gov. Mitt Romney in 2006 signed the Massachusetts health care reform into law.
Washington (CNN) – A military coalition including 33 of the nation’s leading veterans and uniformed services organizations on Tuesday will stage a major event in Washington to push for an end to the government shutdown.
Activists for veterans and the nation’s service members have warned the shutdown – especially as it approaches the end of its second week – has had a devastating impact on them and their families, and now they are stepping up their campaign to put political pressure to re-open the government.
Washington (CNN) – Koch Industries, the massive, multi-national energy and chemical conglomerate, owned by influential conservative donors Charles and David Koch, fired back Wednesday at the top Senate Democrat, charging he accused them of playing a pivotal role in GOP efforts to shut down the government.
Philip Ellender, president of government and public affairs division of Koch Companies, sent a letter to Congress denying that Koch had any role in devising the strategy to demand that Obamacare be defunded in order to keep the federal government operating.
Washington (CNN) – The Department of Veterans Affairs clarified itself Saturday, saying that if a government shutdown occurs, and lasts at least a month, not all compensation and pension payments would continue.
“Those benefits are provided through appropriated mandatory funding, and that funding will run out by late October. At that point, VA will be unable to make any payments,” spokeswoman Victoria Dillon said in a statement to CNN.
Washington (CNN) - As President Barack Obama and his administration make their case for a military strike against Syria, officials from the president on down worry the regime's chemical weapons stockpiles could eventually endanger America's friends.
"If fighting spills beyond Syria's borders, these weapons could threaten allies like Turkey, Jordan and Israel," the president said in his speech to the nation Tuesday night.FULL STORY
Washington (CNN) – Following the resignations of most of his senior staff and questions about whether he had the commitment to mount a full presidential campaign, Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich told supporters Friday he knows what the effort will take and is committed to enduring the rigors in order to get his message out.
"As someone who has been in public life for nearly forty years, I know full well the rigors of campaigning for public office. I will endure them.
