CNN: Under attack, Romney accuses Obama of cronyism
As Mitt Romney's opponents continued to hammer him over details of his business record, the presumptive GOP nominee sought to change the conversation Monday with sharp criticism of President Barack Obama's record in office. After a weekend dominated by family time, Monday was also a banner day of fund-raising for Romney. He headlined two events that raised roughly $3.7 million, according to pool reports.

CNN: With surging numbers, Asian-Americans look for congressional gains
Three times as many Asian-Americans have been running for Congress in 2012 than in the past two elections, a nonpartisan political group says, and it's a development that portends greater changes in demographic trends and reflects the recent political awakening of a minority group long confined to the margins of American society.

CNN: Democrats to Romney: 'Stop whining' over felony remark
The suggestion this week from a top Obama campaign official that Mitt Romney may have committed a felony by listing himself as CEO of Bain Capital after leaving the firm was picked apart Sunday, with Republicans decrying the remark as the worst type of divisive politics and Obama's team urging its rivals to "stop whining."

CNN: Claims of lies and counter-lies dominate campaign rhetoric
Accusations of lies and counter-lies dominated the intensifying November election campaign Thursday, with surrogates and spokespeople for President Barack Obama and certain Republican nominee Mitt Romney trying to cast the other as dishonest and secretive. While neither candidate engaged directly in the political back-and-forth, their teams and supporters launched new attack ads and criticized the opposing contender with increasingly sharp rhetoric.

CNN: Massachusetts Commission’s finding: Romney left Bain in '99
In 2002, before Mitt Romney was elected governor of Massachusetts, political opponents in the state were out to knock him off the ballot. So they challenged his eligibility to be a gubernatorial candidate based on state residency requirements. The bipartisan panel that handled the case, the State Ballot Law Commission, ruled in Romney’s favor. But buried deep in the 40-page document detailing its decision, the commission found the following: “The Respondent remained actively employed at Bain Capital until January 1, 1999, at which time he left to take the position of President and Chief Executive Officer of the Salt Lake Organizing Committee for the 2002 Winter Olympic Games.”

CNN: Romney weighs in on releasing tax returns
Mitt Romney responded to recent Democratic-led attacks on his personal finances, suggesting Wednesday he had no intention of meeting their demand to release tax documents dating back prior to 2010. CNN: House Republicans launch all-out assault on health care law
House Republicans continue their all-out assault on President Barack Obama's signature health care reform law Wednesday, with a planned vote to repeal the measure. The vote will be the latest of more than 30 House GOP efforts to undermine the 2010 Affordable Care Act, including previous Republican-led moves to repeal the measure or cut funding for various provisions.

CNN: Bush tax cut fight could derail Senate small-business bill
The Senate voted Tuesday to begin debate on a bill to give tax breaks to small businesses that hire new workers or boost pay for existing workers. But the overwhelming 80-14 vote masks the broad expectation that because of an unrelated fight over the Bush tax cuts, the small business bill is unlikely to pass the chamber.

CNN: House Republicans plan another health care repeal vote
House Republicans are planning a vote Wednesday on repealing President Barack Obama's signature health care reform law, even though they know the measure has no chance of winning Senate approval. The vote will be latest in a series of dozens of House GOP efforts to undermine the 2010 Affordable Care Act, including previous votes to repeal the measure or cut funding for various provisions. Even when passed by the House, the measures have mostly died in the Democratic-led Senate.

CNN: House Ethics Committee launches inquiry of Democratic Rep. Shelley Berkley
The House Ethics Committee announced Monday that it is launching a formal investigation of Nevada Democratic Rep. Shelley Berkley, a seven-term House member who is running for a U.S. Senate seat. Berkley is facing questions about whether her efforts to block a federal agency from closing a kidney transplant center at a Las Vegas hospital conflicted with congressional ethics rules. A White House official said Obama will make the announcement Monday at the Rose Garden, surrounded by working people. In addition, a campaign official said the campaign will "amplify the president's message on middle-class tax cuts" by hosting a series of events in battleground states all week across the country.

Mitt Romney's campaign said Thursday they had a behemoth fund-raising month in June, bringing in more than $100 million, two Republican sources confirmed. CNN: Sununu to Romney camp: Keep it simple
A fellow Republican former governor offered some advice on Thursday to the Romney campaign in light of a scathing Wall Street Journal editorial that suggests the front runner's campaign is proving ineffective. When CNN's Wolf Blitzer asked former New Hampshire governor and high profile Romney surrogate John Sununu if he had any advice for the candidate, Sununu said that his own party should be more concise, using more “declarative sentences.”

CNN: Some states not changing course amid rising tide of health care reform
Repeal and replace - or at least resist - is the Republican mantra in the wake of last week's Supreme Court ruling upholding President Barack Obama's signature health care reform law. Presumptive GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney promises to get rid of Obamacare if elected, and at least four Republican governors say their states will hold off implementing main provisions of the 2010 law to see what happens in November.

CNN: Romney calls health care mandate a 'tax,' contradicts top aide
Mitt Romney said the federal health care reform mandate constitutes a "tax" Wednesday, contradicting the way a senior adviser to his campaign characterized his position earlier this week. But the similar individual mandate and fee he signed into law when governor of Massachusetts is not a tax, he said in a separate interview, citing the Supreme Court's decision last Thursday.

CNN: RNC chairman: I'm not the GOP police
Reince Priebus, the Republican National Committee chairman, said in a Tuesday interview that he would not abandon GOP Rep. Allen West, who said on Sunday that President Barack Obama wanted Americans to be "slaves." "He does not want you to have the self-esteem of getting up and earning and having that title of American. He'd rather you be his slave," the Florida congressman said of Obama at a rally in Port St. Lucie, according to CNN affiliate WPTV.

CNN: Obama campaign rails against Romney over foreign investments
The campaigns for Mitt Romney and President Barack Obama played ping pong with political jibes Tuesday over a news report detailing Romney's overseas investments and bank accounts. Team Obama heavily pushed the article that appeared in the August issue of Vanity Fair, calling into question the lengths Romney went to in managing his finances and asking if the former private equity CEO was in violation of tax evasion.
