Warren and McCain camp insist the presumptive Republican nominee had no edge over Obama by going second.
 (CNN) – Sometimes you just have to take it on faith. Pastor Rick Warren said John McCain didn’t hear any of the questions in advance at Saturday night’s Civil Forum, even if the candidate was a little late arriving to the pre-arranged quiet room or “cone of silence.” At the beginning of the forum at California megachurch, Warren told the crowd and TV audience, “I'm going to ask identical questions to each of these candidates, so you can compare apples to apples. Now, Senator Obama is going to go first. We flipped a coin, and we have safely placed Senator McCain in a cone of silence.” But at 8 p.m. ET, as Warren said that, McCain was actually not in the building. He was just leaving his hotel, with his motorcade arriving at the church nearly a half hour into the event. A. Larry Ross, a spokesman for Warren, says McCain then went directly into the holding room they dubbed the “cone of silence” (in reality, a room with no TV or audio). Obama’s Hawaiian vacation starts today.
(CNN) — Barack Obama and his family are on their way to Hawaii aboard the Illinois senator's campaign plane. They'll journey to Oahu, where they will spend several days visiting his extended family. They've been joined on board by more than a dozen family friends. The section of the plane usually reserved for staff is filled with children under the age of 12. Mark Penn is a chief strategist for the Clinton campaign.
(CNN) – The Colombian government severed ties with Clinton strategist Mark Penn and his public relations firm Saturday, unhappy Penn referred to a recent meeting with the Colombian ambassador as an "error in judgment." "Mr. Mark Penn, President and CEO of Burson Marsteller, responded to claims by Union representatives who questioned his relationship with the Colombian Government by declaring that it was an 'error in judgment' to meet with his client the Colombian Ambassador on March 31. The Colombian government considers this a lack of respect to Colombians, and finds this response unacceptable," a statement from the Colombian embassy said. Penn's comments came Friday after it was reported he had met with the Colombian ambassador in his role as CEO of his P.R. firm to promote a free trade agreement with the country that Hillary Clinton has sharply criticized on the campaign trail. "The meeting was an error in judgment that will not be repeated and I am sorry for it," Penn said in an issued statement.
