Obama headlines two high dollar fundraisers in NYC

New York (CNN) - President Barack Obama ends a busy day Monday in New York City with two fundraisers for his re-election campaign.

Five days after announcing he personally supports same-sex marriage, the president will speak to some 200 people at a fundraiser co-hosted by entertainer Ricky Martin, who announced two years ago that he is gay, and the Futuro Fund, an initiative by some Latino leaders to support Obama's re-election bid, according to a campaign official.

Obama heads home to kick off fundraising

Washington (CNN) - President Barack Obama heads to his hometown Thursday evening to begin fund raising for his re-election bid for the White House.

The president is the main attraction at three events in Chicago. The first two are smaller gatherings at Nine and MK, restaurants in the city. The third and largest event is being held at Navy Pier, along the shore of Lake Michigan.

Biden in key state on day of Obama announcement

Washington (CNN) – On the same day that President Barack Obama announced the launching of his re-election campaign, Vice President Joe Biden is in a crucial state in the race for the White House.

The vice president teams up with Education Secretary Arne Duncan at an event at the University of New Hampshire in Durham to highlight how the school's efforts to reduce and respond to incidents of sexual violence on its campus can be used as a model across the country.
