While the press can label earmarks as being "pork barrel" spending, there are hundreds of worthy non profit initiatives that are in desperate need of their government support in order to continue to serve their communities. While we are constantly reminded of the "bridge to nowhere", I would implore the press to really see what great things happen in America because of the earmark spending program.

What? Someone's drawing attention to the disgusting goings-on in our government? Well, that does it – 'ole Harry Reid's stepped in it now. Hypocrite that he is. Go get him!!!!

They should put in an earmark for social security or medicare. Or heck, even just some down payment assistance for me and my middle class family to buy a house.
