Richardson gives rare Democratic praise for President Bush

WASHINGTON (CNN) – In an unusual moment, New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson praised President George Bush at Thursday’s Democratic presidential forum.

On the topic of HIV/AIDS and African American teens, Richardson said there is a need to also address the issue of the disease in Africa and the need to fund the effort.  He went on to praise President Bush in this effort.

“And here I'm going to say something positive about President Bush,” Richardson told the audience.  “His funding for Millennium accountability and Millennium appropriations has been relatively impressive.”

Millennium Challenge provides funding to international projects in poor foreign countries.

Anonymous could have been describing the American worker. It's okay to feel compassion for immigrants that have chosen to violate the laws of the United States, but compassion doesn't mean responsibility. The, 12 to 20 million, and surely that number is low, illegal immigrants in this country today chose to come here, perhaps, with the blessing of Corporate America. But, not with the blessing of the average American worker. The idea that workers would welcome lower wages, reduced benefits and longer hours is ludicrous. These so-called safty precautions; finger printing, background checks etc., are useless against criminals. Do these Senators really believe that a career criminal is going to comply. For those who say that America doesn't have a problem with the aliens already here, I say show me any country on earth that has a prison population, throw out those in prison for immigration violations, I'm talking about just plain crimes, and I'll agree that maybe we don't have a big problem. I'm not saying that all illegal immigrants are criminals, but it's a problem. I agree with the Democrats, that granting amnesty would drive an illegal workers wage all the up to minimum, but what does that do for the American already on the job or without a job because there was someone available to take that job at a lower wage? The global corporation is a new ballgame for the American worker, the only defence against their insatiable appetite for profits, at the expense of those in the workplace, is their elected officials. Sadly, this is not happening. We need fresh faces in both the Senate and the House, and the Executive Branch, even the Vice-President(Whatever branch he's in). Alas, the representation that we have is the result of the choices that we've made, let's try to do better anything is better than this.

Richardson gets praise for telling the truth about Bush, but Shrillary's remark about if it was "white women getting aids it would be more important" which is a lie will get all the airplay.

That is why this country is divided, the media is part and parcel for making it happen.

I am not a Democrat, but Richardson is so much the better candidate than Hillary it's not even close.

Experience, reasoning and the slightest hint of being bipartisian are all the reasons why he is better.

Too bad most if not all the money goes to agencies that will only promote abstinence. Just say no.
