Campaign promises 'unvarnished' look at Clinton with 'HillCam'

Clinton's camp promises a behind the scenes look on the campaign trail.

WASHINGTON (CNN) - As a top tier presidential candidate, Sen. Hillary Clinton is surrounded by cameras nearly everywhere she goes.

But one more will follow the New York Democrat and her husband on the trail next week in Iowa, when her campaign debuts what it is calling the "HillCam," described as a "groundbreaking effort" that will show viewers a "totally unvarnished" Clinton.

"The HillCam will follow Hillary and Bill Clinton as they travel from Des Moines to Davenport, capturing their spontaneous and unscripted moments," according to a statement from the campaign. "Taking supporters beyond the soundbites, the HillCam will offer an unvarnished look at the Clintons’ first joint-campaigning of the 2008 race."

The Clintons will spend Monday-Wednesday in the crucial early-voting state.

    "spontaneous and unscripted moments"???

In the last 15 yrs, I can think of only two.
    1)Bill's finger wagging
2)Hills "I'm not some little wife standing by her man" comment.

Both very revealing about their underlying personalities. Wouldn't you agree..?

An unvarnished look at the Clintons would be if they were taped with a hidden camera. That's the only time you will see them in their true nature. HillCam means nothing!

I love that Bill and Hill still work up the repubs like nobody else. Let's face it boys–America likes her, even if you don't. I wonder on how many blogs you'll be posting the day after election day? My guess is that you'll take the day off.

"Unvarnished"? How about restoring her original Yalie-days hair color with age-appropriate touches of gray, and losing the lipstick on the lips that pander 24/7?

This sounds like an updated version of "The War Room" documentary by the 1992 Clinton Campaign.

How about the "At least up not at home baking cookies".

It takes a village to raise your child, but heaven forbid you use an oven to feed them....

This is just weird! Do you think the way they are trying to tap into pop culture is smart or possibly effective? I'm not sure if I disagree with these stunts or I just can't stand our reality T.V. potato-brained culture.

Then again, it's better than when the politicians get up there and talk like evangelical preachers.

One important point to realize here...Hillary Clinton cannot win a general election. Her negatives over the last decade have CONSISTENTLY hovered at around 50 percent. Folks, in political terms, that means that 50% of the country has a negative view of her, both personally and politically.

As my father always told me, "You can put lipstick on the pig...but at the end of the day, its still a darn pig."

While Senator Clinton is bright, capable and COULD be a good president, at the end of the day, she can't win the White House for Dems - she is not her husband (who left office with a 63% approval rating btw)and she can't capture his magic because, frankly, people don't like her. Unfortunately, it is a problem that is, largely, a creature of her own making. Hillary has a nasty tendency of paranoia - bordering on Nixonian - and while she tries to appear genuine, the public at large just can't buy into her and they won't in a general election setting.

Who's running for President here anyway?!!!? Can't that woman do it herself? Get out of the way, Hillary, and give Obama an uncluttered road to run on.

Not sure if we'll ever get real inside look at the Clinton camp. But one thing is for sure – underestimating Hillary Clinton is a mistake.

    She's got a real shot.

many people just don't realize tht America love Hillary she is smart, funny, intelligent and leaves every debate with a plan. She goes in as a winner and leaves the winner. She is the only democrat tht will fight back when she is attacked by the republican machine. many people need to look at tht she can win the general election and she will. She just need the support. She has a buisness additude and that is good for a person vying to be the next president of the United States.

With George W. Bush and bunch, you didn't even get one President for an enormous price.Under Bill ( slick Willy ) Clintion, every thing was good, a lot of jobs, gas/oil priced fair, plenty to eat, life was good.Bring back the good life put these people back to work for us.Hillary and Bill Clintion, you can't do any better than these people!!

John Edwards is not good enough, so Elizabeth using her health condition campaigns for her husband? Obama has no experience and is not ready that's why Michell riots like she is the candidate without any political career? Rudy has no leadership that's why Judy is helping him? Can you answer me? President Clinton tells us about true Hillary because he knows Hillary better than anybody else in this world. They met in the Spring, 1971 at Yale, over 35 years, isn't it long enough to know each other to you?

    Wake up America!
Edwards is done Elizabeth can't save him.
Guillani was never in – he agrees with everything Bush says What does that tell you? Idiocy loves Company

Obama great man, intelligent, honest, credible, but no experience to run a Nation in such tragic shape.

McCain another war monger who can't raise enough money to stay in race

Romney/Brownback know they can't win so now trying to win votes on Religious merits as they don't have any other merits to put forth.

In short, there are two possible Presidential Candidates in this race....Clinton and Obama...
Experience plus 2 and Youth ....

Our World needs a Saviour....Please Vote Clinton for all our sakes!

Okay, how's this for unvarnished? I am sick and tired of all this "politically correct speech" of today. Hillary Clinton is going through MENOPAUSE just like the rest of us "good" women of America. And I can tell you from experience, I DO NOT WANT A MENOPAUSAL WOMEN IN THE WHITE HOUSE. One hot flash coupled with a mood swing and we'd all be history. There! Take that to your politically correct forum and cover it up OR better yet, don't post my comment, hypocrite!
