Cheney to become president...briefly

Vice President Dick Cheney.

WASHINGTON (CNN) - President Bush will undergo a routine colonoscopy Saturday, and will transfer power to Vice President Dick Cheney during the procedure, expected to take about two and a half hours, the chief White House spokesman said.

Tony Snow said Friday that the procedure, during which a doctor looks for any signs of cancer, will be carried out at Camp David, Maryland, and the president will be placed under anesthesia.

Bush's last colonoscopy was in June 2002, and no abnormalities were found, Snow said.

For those 2 1/2 hours we all need to pray that Dick Cheney will not carry out any hidden policies and destroy the world.

For the record, Mr. Akbar, just because a person thinks that the Bush/Cheney administration is the worst in this nation's history doesn't necessarily mean that they're a 'liberal,' it means they're a concerned, educated, attentive, free-thinking American concerned with our country's past, present and future being tarnished by such brazen acts of political negligence under the guise of patriotism.

From it's refusal to take responsibility for it's actions (unethical and otherwise), removal of the line between church and state, proposing discriminatory amendments, to it's "money grows on trees, who needs the middle class" spending habits, and ending with refusal to acknowledge checks and balance.. I had thought nothing more this administration did could scare me. However, knowing that our Vice President, who changes legislative branches like a squirrel, will be President even for a few hours is truly frightening.

I would be nice to get eight years of Cheney as President, not just a three hour tease. America needs someone of his intellect and determination to continue the fight against the two great evils: terrorism and socialism.

As someone who recently had a colonoscopy...I can only wish the preparations are just as "pleasant" for the Shrub as they were for me. He certainly deserves it...had I known he would have followed in my footsteps, it would have made the evening much more tolerable!

Umm... what is political about this story? Why is this on a 'political ticker.' "The CNN Political Ticker provides the latest political news." Isn't this just standard operating procedure. News... OK. Political? I don't think so. And you wonder why CNN gets the biased slant thrown at it.... so sad.
