What do you think about Gonzales' resignation?
WASHINGTON (CNN) - What's your reaction to Attorney General Alberto Gonzales' resignation? Did it come at the right time? Which party stands to benefit more from his departure?

Its about time....
Finally...
Can "we the people" have our country back now?
Gonzales comments were within the bounds of appropriateness. Unfortunately, the President blamed politics for his resignation–conveniently forgetting, as is his habit, that it was politics that got him there and got him in trouble (lying to defend the political machinations of "W")
it was about time
when does he go to jail
Good riddance Mr Gonzales, and don't let the door hit you on the way out!
Attorney General Gonzales finally succumbed to the witch hunt, and I am sorry to see his resignation. I think patisan politics is more to blame for his departure than any lack on his part.
Gonzalez had to go. Aside from the misconduct and perjury he never seemed particularly competent as an attorney general. It seemed he was far more interested in pushing the Bush agenda than serving as attorney general.
Thank God! But the damage has been done. It's too bad he didn't even have the integrity to bow out months ago.
"Free at last! Free at last! Thank God Almighty, we are free at last!"
Too little too late to help anyone or anything. And isn't it amazing the way the rats desert the ship.
I think it is about time...the Bush team has really fought taking accountability for anything, and the fact that one of Bush's men had had to do so, and has taken himself out of the picture, is a good thing. Now, it would be even better if he were to be honest about the whole situation, but that is too much to ask, I think, given that accountability is not one of the strengths of this administration. In all fairness, there have been very few administrations that have focused on accountability, but this is the one in recent history that has worked hardest to avoid accountability, and Gonzales was one of the worst, in this area.
I am ecstatic over Gonzales' departure. He has proven to be a liar and a crook! We need integrity back in the white house, the congress and the attorney general's office!
It's about time. He should have been prosecuted for war crimes for writing that torture memo, not rewarded with a promotion to attorney general. Now let's peel away the next layer of this rotten onion!
subverted justice. another incompetent Bush puppet. congress should still hold him accountable.
Good riddance!
Who is Alberto Gonzales's temporary replacement until Pres. Bush appoints a new AG? Who is in charge right now?
Maybe he is never viewed as an American.
This guy is the top law enforcenment officer in the nation and he was primarily pleading the fifth.
That is plainy unacceptable!
1. The investigation should continue.
2. Bush will just find someone worse to replace him.
He was a failed Attorney General serving a failed President. Incompentance breeds incompetance.
It was a master stroke of media manipulation.
Now everyone is focused on this, rather than the lack of progress surrounding the Katrina anniversery.
Of course, it will have no effect on how the J.D is run or any other substantive issue. Partisan politics will continue to dominate.
Take Care,
Jeff

It's about time. Gonzales's continued tenure has made a mockery of the DOJ. I don't have much confidence in Bush's ability to pick an honest, independent successor (especially given his comments about Gonzales this morning), but it can't get a lot worse.
