WASHINGTON (CNN) - Congressional Democrats took a swipe at their political rivals Wednesday in a new Web video that highlights the personal indiscretions of GOP lawmakers, as the theme song to “Cops” television show plays in the background.
CNN obtained an early version of the video that runs a slide show of six prominent Republicans caught up in various scandals including Idaho Sen. Larry Craig, who pleaded guilty last month to a disorderly conduct charge for allegedly making sexual advances to an undercover police officer in a restroom at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport in June. It also features Louisiana Sen. David Vitter, who is linked to the D.C. Madam scandal. The other GOP officials in the video are no longer in office.

THAT's called reaching across the aisle towards bipartisanship, eh?
With only an 18% approval rating, you'd think these political "einsteins" would have more to do than make beevis & butthead type videos.
Nice job, Democrats. Glad you're spending our money wisely.
Justice reported
When criminal activity is apparent the media should only report the evidence of the crime without names or faces until the final jury verdict of said suspect. Innocent until proven guilty with that applied not only in a hall of Justice, as defamation is grounds for another law suit.
The final verdict
In the case of the alleged madam who was running a prostituting ring in Washington, the defendant who released the phone records to a media outlet.
This release of information is an unlawful allegation as phone calls are non-accountable. Calls can be made under the pretense of innocence by others from any phone, “can I borrow your phone for a quick call Mr. Soon-to-be degenerated?” Each phone number and call will need to coincide with a credit receipt for viability of a service user and that could infringe on the due privacy of a financial statement, it is really not free public information and would only be used to call a witness to the stand.
The madam’s name and face should not be known nor should the service under investigation be named until the final verdict, with continuances aside; appeals are lawful and allow compensation suit for damages to be filed against the plaintiff in the event of a turnover after final verdict.
So Jon, you think Ken Star and the Whitewater witchhunt was money well spent?
Why doesn't one "side" get back to the business of the people- or whatever it is they're supposed to be doing up there on Capitol Hill.
The democrats learned how to really tell the world of all the mistakes the other party makes from Clinton's eight years in office.
Those were the best eight years of economic growth, low crime, and even led to a balanced budget. The budget was not only balanced it was creating surpluses and still the country had the lowest unemployment rates in more than 40 years.
The Dow Jones increased 347 percent, the NASDAQ went to more than 5000 and even when Clinton left office the NASDAQ was still above 4500 and it is barely 55 percent of that now.
Do not give me the "conservative horse manure" and the caring about people, the only people the republicans care about are those who own them lock stock and barrel and tell them when to sit and when to talk and when and how tax cuts they are to give them.
What are the republicans going to do about the 9 TRILLION DOLLARS OF DEBT THEY ARE LEAVING THE CHILDREN.
I will tell you they are laughing all the way to the bank and probably off shore accounts so they can pay less in taxes to give the children more debt.
Jon:
I am a registered Republican, and I can agree that this was a tactless thing to do.
However, your puerile third-grade analysis of this shows me why I am now registering as a Libertarian. Your statement, sadly, is representative of the current status of my soon-to-be-former party. Rather than admit hypocrisy and move on, you pick on the Democrats for doing EXACTLY what we did to Clinton (not that I defend him).
I thank God that Barry Goldwater passed away before he had to see this happen.
It takes a lot of Hypocricy on the part of the RePUKElicans to talk about bipartisanship....They are pathetic!
Jon, Sacramento ~ Ca,
What reaching did the Repubs do when THEY had a chance to do so?
Here's a partial list of how the repubs (when they controlled both the legislative and executive branches in congress and the White House) chose to play politics when THEY could have been playing fair and bipartisan: 1) accused anyone who didn’t agree with them of being anti-American and a traitor; 2) changed or removed laws that stopped them from doing things they shouldn’t have been doing in the first place (like increasing deficits and the national debt); 3) redrew congressional districts to help them get seats in congress (orchestrated by former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay in 2003); 4) pushed wedge issues (like gay marriage amendments, flag burning, etc) in blatantly transparent attempts to appeal to their evangelical voting base; 5) tied separate issues to others (a permanent cut in the estate tax to an increase in the minimum wage) to prevent the Democrats from passing their legislation rather than simply allow a vote on a SINGLE issue; 6) buried pork (earmarks) in spending bills (“bridge to nowhere”) before they criticized Dems for doing it; 7) changed definitions to make themselves look better (like “manufacturing” and “murder” in Iraq); 8) chose polarizing candidates instead of collaborative ones and then forced them on the other party via recess appointments to bypass the confirmation process (John Bolton); 9) had senior administration officials mislead the public by changing scientific reports to inject doubt into the science of global warming in an effort to minimize the potential danger of it; 10) made last minute changes to a bill (via Arlan Specter) in the Patriot Act that made it possible for the Bush Administration to appoint U.S. attorneys WITHOUT senate approval; 11) introduced bills 24 hours before passage with little opportunity for review, discussion or amendment; 12) blocked Democrats from participating in conference committee activities where final versions of bills are hammered out and provisions are snuck in (Specter’s provision into the Patriot Act); 13) hid at LEAST one damaging National Intelligence Estimate from congress (by refusing to declassify it) and then only selectively did so after the press got ahold of it; 14) voted along party lines to block investigations; 15) when they couldn't FIGHT investigations (911), they delayed the result of the investigations until AFTER elections (Foley investigation, Iraq Study Group) ...
was THAT bipatisan politics Jon?
It's an excellent effort. For those that don't watch the news often, and don't know every detail of the machinations that got us into the Iraq mess, the best way to reach them would be something blunt and humorous.
Americans don't suffer hypocricy and corruption very well, everyone can understand that, and with the viciousness that Karl Rove attempted to demonize the democrats, they well deserve the treatment back.
Its easy for the Dems to highlight the GOP's bad boys. They're the ones they have the most in common with..
It would be refreshing to see them pull the plug on this video. Take the high road and stay above the fray as former Prsident Clinton did when asked about the matter. That would win the hearts and minds of a lot more Republicans that are ready to 'cross-over'.
The American people are sick and tired of voting for the lesser of two evils.
Have a good day,
Chip
Not sure why todays announcement of the corruption involving DEMOCRATS in New Jersey is not being put on the political ticker for us to "discuss".
Oh, yeah, that's right, there still is that Craig moron to talk about.
Let's sum that up, quit in shame you dirtbag, you get what you deserve.
Now lets discuss these fine upstanding 11 DEMOCRATS shall we.

You asked me, "So Jon, you think Ken Star and the Whitewater witchhunt was money well spent?"
The Whitewater investigation exposed 14 individuals that were convicted of 40 crimes. The sitting Governor of Arkansas (Jim Guy Tucker) was forced to resign from office because of 3 counts of fraud in the Whitewater Venture.
Yes, investigating and convicting criminals is money well spent. Money spent on "Bad Boy" videos about Republican politicians (MOST of whom are no longer serving in office) is a waste of money.
Any other questions?
