Bush on Iraq: 'We're kicking ass'

President Bush will give his progress report on Iraq next week, based on information from Gen. David Petraeus.

WASHINGTON (CNN) - When President Bush made a surprise visit to Iraq last weekend, he made clear he was pleased with what he saw.

"The security situation is changing," Bush told reporters during the visit. "There's more work to be done. But reconciliation is taking place."

But according to the Sydney Morning Herald of Australia, the president gave a more-to-the-point assessment to Australia Deputy Prime Minister Mark Vaile.

"We're kicking ass," Bush said to Vaile Tuesday, according the Herald, after the deputy prime minister inquired about his trip to Iraq.

On Thursday, White House spokeswoman Dana Perino would not confirm or deny the reported comment. (Related Video: Jack Cafferty reads your e-mails on Bush's blunt talk)

This isn't the first blunt comment Bush was overheard making to a world leader. At last year's G8 summit, a live microphone picked up the president telling then-British Prime Minister Tony Blair that the United Nations needs to "get Syria to get Hezbollah to stop doing this s**t."

Good one Your Imperial Highness King George. The last time you opened your pie-hole and told the insurgents "Bring It On" they responded by filling up body bags with our young soldiers. Now, how many more body bags will come home after your idiotic "Kicking Ass" statement?

In response to the comments below from Prouddad:
I think I can speak for everyone in this COUNTRY that we all support the men and women who are over in Iraq. No one wishes anything bad upon them. That being said, that does not change the fact that YES, some of them did indeed commit attrocities against other human beings. The same unfortunate thing has happened in every war, and you cannot change this fact. It is not a reflection of something bad against your son, but just the truth.
I hope he comes home safe and soon.

    "To Clint From Menlo Park:

You asked 'were we kicking ass when some of our people shot up a bunch of Iraqi women and children'

I have to assume you are referring to our military. You can bad mouth this president, but leave our military alone. My son is over in Iraq, serving his country-and I am very proud of him. Your negative comments disgust me.""

While brave Americans are dying everyday, he is again make it sound like it is just a game. Is this one of those "Dead or Alive" or "Bring'em on" – I regret it now – comments?

To James who claims to have sent a message to the FBI:

ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Have you not heard of free speech? He is not seriously threatening the president's life and you know it. Do you do this with everyone who has a different viewpoint from yours?

He is 'kicking ass' on the backs and lives of other people children...why aren't the Bush twins in the military? Or Mary Cheney? Oh, wait, that is right, she can't...some one asked and she told...What a line of noise this White House has put out. After all we were told this is a "Noble Cause" (so was Vietnam I believe). We still do not know 'the reason' why we are there...but then, a lot of us have guessed it.

"We", indeed! To see this coward take credit so blythely for the hard sacrifices of others, makes me ill. He not only got a cushy Air Reserve 'deferment', but even deserted that post when he became bored. No punishment of course, records misplaced. My. He's not fit to tie the combat boots of a common soldier.

Yeah, we're making progress now. Sure...tell us again next year, and the next, and the next...some people will believe anything. It's easier than thinking for themselves.

It's a grand old family tradition. In 1984, there was a vice-presidential debate between George H.W. Bush (AKA "Poppy")and Geraldine Ferraro. An open microphone caught Bush bragging that he had "kicked a little ass" following a debate the press named mostly neutral.

If the left only knew that their hate for Bush is going to get all of us killed!!! Winning in Iraq is the only option here! Why is it so hard for the left to understand that! Can someone tell me why? Go Bush kick some ass!

Maybe he was being sarcastic....You have to laught at this guy. And just think, MILLIONS voted for this moron. I don't claim to be a genius or anything but the lack of critical and independent thinking in the world is simply shocking.

But you have to admit, he says some funny ash shiite. Classic. What a tool bag. Who in the F is going to see this douchebag give public speaks after he tip toes off into the Tulips?

We're "Kicking Ass" just like President Clinton didn't "Tap that ass" in reference to the women he committed adultry with? Tell me what the difference is. All politicians don't lie, they just bend the truth when it is convenient. Get over it folks. I am headed back to Iraq to, "Kick some ass" here soon so please, complain about something worth complaining about.

"Kicking Ass" ?... said the leader of the Free World about our "exploits" in Iraq. I'm conservative and I voted for this moron. He has made two tremendous mistakes, 1. Entering Iraq, and 2. Being a more wasteful spender than any liberal Democrat i could imagine. I truly regret voting for this neanderthal.

Do we have a plan to impeach yet ?
