Clinton has no answers for undocumented immigrants

DES MOINES, Iowa (CNN) - At a press briefing after Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton's health care rollout Monday, senior policy advisers said the New York senator's plan does not currently include any details on whether illegal immigrants will be covered.

Senior policy adviser Laurie Rubiner–while acknowledging that undocumented immigrants are a "huge issue" in this country–said, "That's one we're going to have to think through a little bit."

"We have not dealt with every single detail with this plan," Rubiner continued.

When asked if it would be safe to assume that the Democratic frontrunner, at this point, has no position on coverage for illegal immigrants advisers answered "yes" and said the plan does not "at this point" deal with that issue.

Her "hiliarycare" plan is a disaster waiting to happen anyway. Why do the people of Cananda come here for their urgent care needs anyway? Nobody asks that question. Why are we even asking the question? They are criminals in this country. They deserve a quick deportation and a tall fence.

Why should my taxes go to pay for someones healthcare who isn't legally allowed to be in this country?

If illegals want health care there is a very simple solution: THEY CAN PAY FOR IT. The rest of us do.

God help us if health care becomes more regulated and socialized than it already is.

She had years to answer this question and several months since the rest of canidates made their proposals. And you know that with the immigration issues so hot, it is going to be used to derail her plan. All smoke and no substance.

The answer's quite simple, but not pleasant. Pandemics are a real threat to all Americans. Flu viruses are mutating and fast becoming immune to our innoculations. Diseases that we've eradicated are coming back. Viruses are an extremely realistic threat to every American, not just the poor.

Whether we like it or not, diseases dont discriminate against poor, rich, legal or illegal. The dishwasher at your local restaurant could kick off a small epidemic in your town. The possibilities are as wide as our imaginations.

Thus every individual needs access to innoculation and medical care to combat the spread of flu viruses or worse. It's in all of our interests to be sure illegal immigrants can receive such care, especially if they are travelling to and from regions where disease is more common.

Malaria is rampant on every continent, and coming back in the US. We dont have the immunity or the medical solutions to stop that.

Any disease professional will tell you that hygeine and innoculation/care are the key to keeping us all safe.

Whether we like it or not, illegals will always be here, and illegal immigrants are more likely to bring disease with them that threaten all of us if we dont allow care for them

I wonder how long it will take Hillary to think it through and make a decision? Illegal immigrants should not be given this benefit. I think it would be important for us taxpayers to know the answer to this before the election. We should not be giving this benefit to illegal immigrants.

Affordable health care plan for illegal immigrants: A Band-Aid, two Tylenol and a one way Greyhound/plane ticket back to their country of origin. Ideally the program would be staffed by volunteers from humanitarian groups who are already providing similar services to illegals at major crossing points along our Mexican border. The greatest expense would be to provide tax benefits and discounted health care costs these volunteers for their efforts.

Anyone that has a plan that has not either included or excluded 12 million people does not have a plan.

People be realistic, look how hard it is already to talk about the program. Trying to include illegal immigrants will be harder to do. It must be done one step at a time. She's being realistic, you should all be. We live in no perfect world and we sure as hell can't fix it all at once.

By the way, all those who says this is socialism or communism, please, do like Ms. Clinton told one guy who said asked the same: "Drop the rhetoric, get educated".

Socialized medicine is a medicine entirely run by government. This is far from being that. Doctors won't lose their private practice. Insurance companies won't go out of business, pharmaceuticals won't run out of business. Except Insurance companies, which will have to compete for customers, Doctors and Pharmaceuticals will actually benefit (most customers).

This plans gives you choice. If you have health insurance right now and you are happy with it, then fine, keep it. If you are not, then you have another option. Do not forget one of basic concepts behind a capitalist society, competition; this plan creates competition, which leads to lower costs for us. My god, we will even be able to get tax credits for this. For any one there who doesn't know the tax system well, tax credits are better than deductions. Currently, you can deduct medical expenses. If we were allowed to that amount as a tax credit, our taxable income drops dramatically, and our tax liability drops even more. Again, please read, investigate, do research, don't follow emotional opinions.

Please don't be fooled by "socialist plan" idea, it's ridiculous and baseless. Also, don't think the Bush tax cuts are that good. The tax cuts only helped big businesses. It didn't help individuals, we are still paying the same tax yearly; and it didn't help small business because they don't have the resources to pay for tax planning. Big businesses can pay as much 40 million yearly alone for tax planning, do small business have this money, I DON'T THINK SO. And people ask themselves, why is the middle class shrinking.

Under all of the Presidental contenders that want to push Univeral Health Care, there will have to be an increase in TAXES.

So I guess in the Clinton plan there are really not 47 Million people without health care. That number is cut in half because there are 20+Million Illegal Alliens in this country.

Let me ask a question, where in the US Constitution does it state that our founding fathers want to give as an entitlement of healthcare for everyone???

As a struggling business owner with 2 kids, we have healthcare. There are plans out there for everyone to afford "IF YOU LOOK".

Stop the crying and get your own health care.

I don't want to pay for deadbeats that don't want to go out and get/find a job so the good people of the country will have to pay for them.

Universal health care will not work in America because the working individual already has health care and they do NOT wish to foot the bill for those who are freeloading. Besides, we already have one form of universal health care created by Democraps that has failed miseribly – Medicare.

No illegals. If it's life threatening, patch 'em send the bill with them to take back to the Mexican gov't when they are deported.

We've underwritten law breakers long enough in this country.

No plan for illegal immigrants? That's the only positive thing I've seen about HillaryCare.

Why is it that many of the same people who love to revile the inept, maladroit government for failing to respond competently to the Katrina disaster are so willing to put the the same bumbling bureaucracy in charge of our pap smears and rectal exams?

If you think you hate your HMO now, wait until you have to stand in line at the post office to see your primary care physician.

Socialized Govt. Healthcare, Hillary Care or "Any Care". It isn't for the "Elite", only for the rest of us. Ask her if the Congress will give up their "Healthcare Plan" and get in line with the rest of us, I think not! How "Politburo" of them.
I wish no ill on them, but how much better would we all be if on 9/11 the only target was a joint session of Congress? 535 vs. almost 3000, I'll take that trade! How many others feel the same way?

Isn't it funny that the same party blaming Bush for "sticking our children and grandchildren with a huge debt" continuously support things like a $100+ billion plan that hasn't even been thought through yet...

Did you see Hillary simultaneously on all the sympathetic news programs today? Boy, did she look rough – woof. HDTV is not kind to 1960s liberals. Given that some people pick elected officials like voters on American Idol, Hillary does not have a chance unless she promises everyone a $100,000 a year government salary with no work required.

Having lived in both Canada (New Brunswick) and Australia (Western Australia) during my life, I can say without hesitation that I want nothing to do with Hillary's plan. We heard all about the promises of nationalized healthcare – it would be more efficient, cheaper, cover everyone, etc. and it would only cost X number of dollars per year. What we received was inefficiency, high cost, higher taxes, the closing of hospitals, rationing of care, and the exodus of doctors, especially up in Canada. As care was rationed poorer people had to make co-payments in order to visit a doctor or hospital, and many went without seeing doctors because of the cost.

Now that I am living and working in the US again I can see a doctor within days, not weeks or months. Our system isn't perfect (is any?) but as someone who had to live in a nationalized system, the only outcome is that you have less money in your pocket for worse service.

Remember that we were promised back in the 60's that with Medicaid we would be able to cover the medical needs of the poor and elderly and what we have now is a bloated program that shows no signs of efficiency.

My own personal opinion has been that nationalized healthcare imperils the health of the nations that have implemented it. And make no mistake about it, Hillary's plan effectively nationalizes healthcare because it forces coverage on people, does not allow for coverage to be based on your actual risk (unlike car insurance, etc.), and will force coverage of those who are here illegally (do you really think that in the end illegal immigrants will not be covered) to be spread among taxpayers.

Lastly, the plan makes no mention of protecting doctors in any way from malpractice or frivolous lawsuits, or the insurance companies who would be forced to comply with the new federal mandates, with any types of protection on limits for litigation.

The Hildabeast knows she plans to cover illegals. The devil is in the details of this plan as well as the overall concept. All she is unsure of at this point is how to hide that from the American voting public until it's too late. That's why she claims it has not been addressed yet. This tactic is typical when trying to deceive. She smart enough to know, as someone said earlier, that she "looks better when she keeps her mouth closed" and doesn't reveal much of what is already planned.
