Clinton has no answers for undocumented immigrants

DES MOINES, Iowa (CNN) - At a press briefing after Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton's health care rollout Monday, senior policy advisers said the New York senator's plan does not currently include any details on whether illegal immigrants will be covered.

Senior policy adviser Laurie Rubiner–while acknowledging that undocumented immigrants are a "huge issue" in this country–said, "That's one we're going to have to think through a little bit."

"We have not dealt with every single detail with this plan," Rubiner continued.

When asked if it would be safe to assume that the Democratic frontrunner, at this point, has no position on coverage for illegal immigrants advisers answered "yes" and said the plan does not "at this point" deal with that issue.

No plan for illegals? That puts them in a better position than me, on whom Hillary wants to force insurance coverage. I have a home in Brazil and spend some 6 months per year overseas and many Americans have retired to places like France, Italy, Costa Rica and Guadalajara. What is Hillary's plan to make medical services and prescription drugs available to all of us expatriates?

The curious thing is: although Hillary doesn't know if illegals are covered or not, she has stated the price tag is $110 billion. Only $110 billion. How can she know the final cost without knowing who's covered?

No plan for illegal immigrants? That's the only positive thing I've heard about HillaryCare.

Why is it that so many of the same people who love to revile the inept, maladroit government for failing to respond competently to the Katrina disaster are so willing to put the the same bumbling bureaucracy in charge of our pap smears and rectal exams?

If you think you hate your HMO now, wait until you have to stand in line at the post office to see your primary care physician.

Just ask Canada. Or better yet try an army hospital. Government needs to stay out of the heath care business

Finally! This will be the demise of the shrew. There are too many working people who will make sure they dont have to pay for someone elses health care. We cant even afford our own policy let alone others.. especially illegals, and by the way the talley is up to 39 million illegals. If we are going into socialism, then I should quit my middle class job and let Billary support me in a manner in which I have become accustomed. After all, the illegals that drag 5 kids into the welfare office on a daily basis all seem to have some pretty expensive cars parked outside. Yesterday I looked out my office window and watched 2 Escalades( tricked out ) and 1 Beemer and and hand full of SUV's drive up to get their free money.

The number is probably much closer to 20+ million "undocumented workers", and could approach 30+ in the next decade – but nobody has a real statistic. Suffice it to say there are tens of millions.

Hillary's plan will be determined after she consults the polls to see what she can say that might draw more votes her way.

Hillary would also do nothing to stop illegal immigration or secure the border if elected. She's in the pocket of the big businesses who want that cheap labor.

Hillary is purposely low-balling the cost of this program. She is pro-illegals. Then the cost just went up and the working man's paycheck just went down...again.

Hillary, Obama, & Rudi are all pathetic.

Quit drinking that Hillary Kool Ade Danny G. Hillary's 'healthcare plan' will bankrupt this country.

The ONLY care illegals should get is bona fide emergency medical care, and NOTHING else!

Although many of the anti-Hillary crowd say she is a promise of new taxes; are your costs lower under Bush? The majority of your taxes have simply been restructured. Cut at federal and raised at state and local. The vast majority of us actually pay more for taxes. Once the bill comes due for Bush's mismanagement and war who will you blame then?

Obviously, as it was with the first health care plan that she proposed under her husbands' administration, she wants to force the citizens of the US to pay for all persons legal or illegal. Universal healthcare plans that include those who are not citizens and or are not here legally would not be such a big issue except for the fact that any such plan would be financially unsustainable. It would in fact bankrupt the nation and force all US citizens into a state of poverty by the dragonian taxes that would be necessary to keep the plan afloat. However, even with such taxes neither the US or any single country will be able to provide health care and other benefits to all of the citizens of the earth. Within 20 years we will be worse off than we are now, with terrible health care service, taxes so high that we will not be able to afford more than the bare basics needed to sustain life. The only thing that may work is for employers to be forced to offer health care with a 50 50 plan whereby the employee pays 50% and the employer pays 50%. This would remove the alure of hiring undereducated illegals then allowing the state and nation to provide for them.

While I'm for everyone being able to go to the doc when sick, and I'm for people participating in PREVENATIVE know, an apple a day...I do NOT want the same government that is responsible for the Katrina Cleanup, Iraq, Social Security (that won't be available when I'm old enough to get it), Medicare/caid, SECURING THE BORDER, etc. to run my healthcare system. My private insurance company does it's job just fine, thank you. I am completely against any kind of socialist anything. I am not paying for someone else- I barely make enough money to pay for myself! And Illegals- who the hell cares- they're ILLEGAL!!! Why can't she try to jump support for Mexico to take care of its own people??? Why do we need to import that much more poverty and uneducation? How much is Iraq costing, and we may be looking at footing their bill, also? Hillary is a socialist. Take from the rich (many of whom are self much for the American Dream), and redistribute to those that "need it more". Screw you, Hillary. I don't want anyone else paying for me, and I don't want to pay for anyone else.

Proposing something you say will cost approx 100 billion and then turning around and saying you are not sure if it is going to cover close to 20 million people should have that red flag flying up the pole. Of course this will cover them, and of course they are not being budgeted. This plan is a fraud that has zero chance of passing. Mandatory car insurance is constitutional because driving is a priveledge, not a right. Apparently living is now a priveledge since Shrilary is making health insurance mandatory. Any constitutional scholars out there have any input?

Are you kidding me?! Are there really US citizens who think our government (the tax payer) should provide services for people who are here illegally?! The only service they should be eligible for is a one-way bus ticket to their home country.

To Joe in Florida. If you think this woman's plan is not socialized medicine and wants to create competition in the health care industry then please read this quote from her earlier this month:
"When I'm president, privatization is off the table because it's not the answer to anything."
Granted that was a quote regarding social security but if you think that this type of idealism doesn't carry over into health care then you are sadly mistaken. Clinton abhors the private sector and believes government is the answer to evertyhing.

The government takes our tax money and rarely uses it for what they say they are going to. Politicians tell us what we want to hear pre-election, and then once in office, doesn't do what they say they're going to. I don't know about you, but I'd rather leave my health up to the doctors and insurance companies than to the politicians and government. Imagine the beauracracy you'd have to go through just to get a simple proceedure if we had universal (aka government controlled) healthcare. No thank you. If we let the government control healthcare, we are opening the door to allowing them to tell us what to eat, and when and how to exercise. More government is never the answer. Whether you like it or not, this world is, and should be every man for himself. No Universal Healthcare for Anyone, especially illegals!

Most people will be infavor of "free" healthcare insurance until they find out that it's going to cost them money. Many of the currently uninsured (mostly among the 18-34 age group) consciously choose not to buy health insurance because they believe that it is unneccessary. Hillary's plan would force these people and everyone else to obtain health coverage, and pay for it. They're going to find out that the term "free" doesn't apply to them.

Hillary's payroll tax on employers will become another sticking point. If employers have to pay a payroll tax to fund the plan, there's going to be less payroll for the employees. So the employees pay directly for at least part of it. The payroll tax will also increase the cost of goods and services for the customers of the businesses. So the remainder of the cost will be passed along in higher prices to consumers. And we are all consumers of one thing or another, folks.

So before you vote for Hillary or HillaryCare II, consider whether you or the country can afford her or her socialist ideas.

When ever you hear about the 40 million uninsured, always keep in mind that this figure includes 20 million (and counting) illegal aliens. Universal health care will only serve to attract more. Of the remaining 20 million, many choose not to be covered. (Let's poll the uninsured and ask about their car payments, entertainment and vacation costs etc.)

UHC will be just another stick we give the government to beat us into submission. How long before they start dictating lifestyle choices in the name of cost containment?

IT IS NOT A LEGITIMATE QUESTION! I am tired of illegals sucking down my retirement. When is someone gonna grow a pair and kick these leaches of society out of our country? I will vote for that person! If it means having to vote for Hillary because she says screw illegals, then she will get mine! I am tired of this, if your illegal get out! There are legal ways to enter the country! It's worked for 100's of years!!!!

The answer for illegal immigration is enforcement of the law. We have more troops on the South Korean border than on our own. We need to increase troop levels on our border. Then, if a person is entering the country illegally, they should be shot if they will not turn around. They do not have a RIGHT to be here. It is a privilege.

What part of "illegal" are so many of us not understanding? If you are here illegally, you forfeit your rights for anything other than to return to where you came from (with a Big Mac meal to tie you over on your trip back).

If you are NOT illegal but came into this country through the proper channels, then, yes, health care is a big issue for every one.

Why should Clinton's plan have to cover illegal immigrants. They are here illegally (hence the name) and most do not pay taxes. They would be a very large and unfair burden to those people (legal immigrants included) who pay their taxes and need health care. I just dont understand why this country has to bend over backwards to pander to people who should not be here anyways. Here's a health plan for the illegal immigrants...deportation!!

Hillary has no comment about coverage for illegals because she thinks by the time she possibly is elected that her party will have already given them amnesty so they will be included.

Socialized Universal Health Care. Lets see, high gasoline prices, unstable mortgage and housing costs, slumping housing prices, rising food and utility costs, loads of personal credit card debt, and unemployment due to corporations sending work over-seas due to high labor costs. Oh, don't forget the new bankruptcy laws (harder to file).

Any candidate who campaigns for adding another social program requiring increased taxes and thinks they are going to win is living in a fantasy land.

Voter 101 – during tight economic times, the voters will always vote their wallet.
