Clinton has no answers for undocumented immigrants

DES MOINES, Iowa (CNN) - At a press briefing after Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton's health care rollout Monday, senior policy advisers said the New York senator's plan does not currently include any details on whether illegal immigrants will be covered.

Senior policy adviser Laurie Rubiner–while acknowledging that undocumented immigrants are a "huge issue" in this country–said, "That's one we're going to have to think through a little bit."

"We have not dealt with every single detail with this plan," Rubiner continued.

When asked if it would be safe to assume that the Democratic frontrunner, at this point, has no position on coverage for illegal immigrants advisers answered "yes" and said the plan does not "at this point" deal with that issue.

Isn't it interesting how Mrs. Clinton delivers a government solution. Ask yourself how productivity gains (decreased costs) occur in every industry except healthcare. Could it be that we perilously asked government to get involved 40 years ago in healthcare? How much protection do doctors have from lawyers? I am sure that wasn't addressed. Eighty percent of the healthcare relationships are with the family doctors. Look how much we all pay now just to be able to see our family doctors. How much more a month will we be paying to support Mrs. Clinton's solution? Healthcare needs to be turned upside down and re-evaluated and that is something Mrs. Clinton can't comprehend.

If you are covered under an HMO, you're already paying for the illegals vis a vis "higher premiums"...what's another few bucks in taxes...hey, I'm made of money!

Since when did Hillary decide Communism was hip? I swear next time I see here she'll have swapped her pantsuit for a Che Guevara t-shirt. Don't we see where all of this liberal snowball leads?

So she's been thinking about health since 1993, but has'nt thought it through yet? She sounds just like Hugo Chavez. Here are a few quotes from the first round of Hillarcare; We just can't trust the American people to make these types of decisions. …Government has to make these choices for people. – Hillary Clinton, circa 1993.
 The unfettered free market has been the most radically disruptive force in American life in the last generation. – Hillary Clinton
 Hillary Clinton, in a 2004 fund-raising speech to wealthy liberals in San Francisco
 We can't afford to have that money go to the private sector. The money has to go to the federal government because the federal government will spend that money better than the private sector will spend it. – First lady Hillary Clinton, in 1993, regarding
She would make Stalin proud! Also has any one noticed how they hide her ever increasingly large butt behind a podium whenever she is on TV or in photo's! Modern Progresive = code words for communist. Conservitives wake up and fight, liberals watch out you'll be the biggest threat to her after she uses you.

    "Undocumented immigrant".

First, before we even get into the meat of the argument, can we just cut the PC crap and use the correct terminology:

    Illegal Immigrant

I was going to say something but after reading the comments, there is not much left to say except....Congress should have exactly the same benefits as others in this country. Nothing extra, social security to live on when they retire and nothing else. (I would agree to an adjustment in their salary to account for a fully discussed increase to handle a program they themselves manage.

If you want to pay more taxes so illegals get health care at your expense then vote for a Democrat. One talking head on TV said, "but they are people and they get sick too". Wake up America, if you think illegal immigration is bad now, just wait until Hillary makes us essentially give Mexico national health insurance. Who would stay there when they can sneak in here and get free health care? Mexico gives their "citizens" no health care to speak of. We might as well just surrender to Mexico and become their caretakers. This election isn't just about the war in Iraq people.

    To Phillip in San Diego:

I'm sorry your son had such a problem in the emergency room, but I'm glad it turned out ok.

I'm puzzled why you think her "plan" will solve the problem you experienced.

All it will do is make it much worse as millions more sneak in across our porous border. They will work for cash, and bilk US taxpayers out of untold billions in free health care.

It will be like any divorced person who has tried to support two households knows,'s very difficult.

Prior administrations to Bush's have allowed this unchecked immigration, but Hillary will make it worse. If you give them free healthcare you become an even more powerful magnet for them to come here.

Middle class citizens like us will have to bear the burden of paying for these people, and it will be unreal when we have half of Mexico living here. It's terrible that Bush won't do anything about it, but neither will Hillary, she will only accelerate the problem.

    To C. Mass:

I understand your frustration about paying for illegals health insurance. But if Hillary is elected and gets this passed you aren't going to have a choice about paying. You have to pay Federal Income taxes, (unless you are an illegal that works for cash), and they government will take YOUR money and pay for THEIR health insurance.

Mexico has no health insurance plan.

Hillary wants US taxpayers to cover anyone who is in US, legally or illegally. You have got to be kidding me!

Are we just totally stupid. How can anyone support her? I guess college students who don't pay any significant taxes, and the unemployed who don't pay any taxes are all for this.

But just wait until this idealistic college students graduate and are trying to raise a family, buy a house, buy cars, have a few bucks left in the bank for emergencies realize they are supporting another countries citizens.

That what they are people, they are the citizens of another country. Sneaking across our border illegally doesn't make them a US citizen. Do you libs value your citizenship in America so lightly that you see these peopel as your equal?

BB in Lousiville thinks the answer is to make them all legal. What do you do with the next 12 million, and the 12 million after that, and the 12 million after that. There are 6 billion people on earth, are they all supposed to come here? According to libs it sounds like we can support them all. And we aren't getting the cream of the crop anymore.

So all of us here have to suffer with more taxes just so illegals from Mexico and other third world countries can sneak in here and have a better life? What about a better life for those us that have been here for generations?

Hillary is the leader of the American Socialist Party.

AJ in Montpelier, VT says he a "hardcore" democrat but is against healthcare for illegals. AJ, Hillary isn't going to "send them packing", but she is going to be asking you her loyal supporter for more taxes so they can come here by the millions and you can pay for it. I loved FDR and JFK too, but today's dems aren't FDR or JFK. They are so far left of them it ridiculous. If today's Dems were in charge during WWII we would all be speaking German today.

Hey Tom in Deedham, MA, why do people in your state keep re-electing Ted Kennedy and Barney Frank to Congress?

They are just as bad as Hillary and they will vote in her crazy health care plan if she's elected.

If we weren't spending billions in Iraq, we would have enough money for the healthcare system. The extra taxes would be less than what we've been spending on gas and heating oil since Bush has been in office.

FREEDOM . . . .PERSONAL FREEDOM AND PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY. I do agree that the healthcare system needs some reform. Government controlled healthcare will NEVER solve the problem. By the way, it's not free – taxes will sky-rocket to pay for this and our freedom to choose care/physicians will absolutely deteriorate to nothing. If they control healthcare, soon they will try to tell us how to eat, regulate our exercise, and then we will all say hello to Big Brother. It is not the government's job to tell me how to live. Only to provide the opportunity for ME to pursue life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

To those who say that it is inhumane not to give treatment to illegals: If a United States citizen entered an emergency room and needed treatment ASAP, but they were unable to receive treatment because the rooms are full of illegals who do not pay for the service and who break our laws – THAT is inhumane.
