The Donald: Time for Bush to go into 'hiding'

Watch Trump sound off on politics with CNN's Wolf Blitzer.

WASHINGTON (CNN) - Donald Trump has some advice for President Bush if he wants a Republican to win the White House: Hide.

The business mogul and vocal critic of the Bush administration told CNN's Wolf Blitzer Monday that he thinks the president is a "huge liability" for any Republican seeking the White House. Trump went on to say the best thing Bush can do for his party is to go into "hiding."

"I think President Bush has to go into a corner and hide if a Republican is going to get elected," he said. "There is no way he is an asset. He is a huge liability, and he is going to have to do a big, big hiding act if a Republican is going to win."

Once a Republican nominee is determined, Trump added, Bush "should just go into a corner and say 'Okay, that's it. I am finished. It's over.'"

Trump also reiterated his comments to CNN in March that Bush is "probably" the worst president in American history, saying, "We've gone from this tremendous power that was respected all over the world to somewhat of a laughing stock."

Donald's statement that Bush is the worst president in American history is ridiculous. It is foolish to assume that because "people are talking about China and India and other places..." and that we are supposedly "a laughing stock" for what has occurred the last few years that it must be all Bush's fault. These efforts to put all our problems under Bush's blanket are naive. However, I do like my Trump tie.

Don't step on someone until you've walked in their shoes. I thinks he's done the best he can do with what he had to work with considering the mess he walked into to start with. I don't think anyone could have done any better. Just thank God, we could have had someone worse.

I think its interesting that because Donald Trump knows a lot about investing and money, it automatically follows that I should listen to his political commentary. It is a difficult thing for human beings not to get caught up with themselves when they can succeed in a certain area of their lives.

Why is it that Americans listen to money-people, even though they make absolutely no contributions to public opinio? So, Americans, I also want to know about your fickleness with one of the few Presidents of the U.S. who actually did something about Sadamm and his terrorist friends –how quickly we forget and return to our day-to-day lives. I guess we need another wake-up call to remember why President Bush sent our sons and daughters to Iraq. I don't see Trump getting his hands dirty by trying to rid this world of fanatics –only our President. Shame on you America.

To all of those who have suggested Mr. Trump isn't entitled to his opinion on this subject: why did you read the article?

perhaps you have forgotten- but you are only a real estate man! I do not think you have the right to critize the president of the United States.
    Mind you place!

Everyone has a right to express his own opinion - that's why we call it Free Speech. Donald just offered HIS own opinion - It was not MEANT to represent YOUR opinion. Do you think we be a little classier in our online comments? Reading through these posts, I thought I was in a roomful of cheerleaders from jr high school. Waste of my time. The Clintons made it possible for millions to buy investment homes and not be killed in capital gains tax. My $4,860,000 and I are okay with Hillary Clinton. Don't talk it unless you can walk it.

I am SO VERY TIRED of all this venom. President Bush deserves the respect of the office and if the celeberties and politicians had been brought up with any training in basic manners we wouldn't have this type of sniping going on. The President has always taken the high road with his attackers. People like Donald Trump and the like look like arrogant children when they vent such angry comments.

Mr. Trump needs to go away and hide, himself. As he supports Hillary Clinton, I'd be embarrassed to be seen on the same block with him. Just to clarify, I'm a woman with a doctorate's degree, and am well-versed on what is happening in this country. It's people like Trump and Hillary Clinton who are leading us to total disaster. Shame on you America. You are walking around with horse-blinders on, while the President of the United States is trying to save us all. Wake up and REALLY pay attention to what is happening in Washington instead of letting the moguls and the Clintons lead you down the garden path.

Should the Democratic controlled Congress with an 11% approval rating go into hiding as well, Mr. Trump?

Donald is right, PR stunt or not. It will be great when Bush is gone, he has ruined this country. Unfortunately, we'll be stuck with more of the same with a Clinton or Guiliani. Republican or Democrat, they are all out of touch. I can't believe this is the best we can do.

I find it instresting that most of the people who find Trumps comments objectionable display their displeasure by tearing Trump down and not by defending Bush. The reason is because this President and what he has done to this country is indefensible. For anyone to not see the damage is completely beyond the realm of all reason.

lance p. cord is on the money. having the world hate us while we kill brave american soldiers and innocent iraqi civilians is hardly scary compared to having "another clinton" in the white house.

wow, times WERE so bad back then, when the budget was balanced and america still had a few allies around the world. and our president lied about sex and nearly got impeached, while this one is a murderer and gets a free ride from the house, senate, media and all the lance p. cords of the world.

yes, another clinton would be like letting the BOGEYMAN in the white house. (or is that BOGEYWOMAN?)
